Depends, what area you hitting? If your doing something near wrigleyville to Lincoln Park, you are good. Even wicker and SOME parts of logan square (Shout's out to the boiler room). . If you are going downtown, unless you start throwing elbows at random folks, you should be fine. Just be mindful of northside dive bars and how you are getting home. Nothing bad should happen to you, but if you are in say Uptown and drunk as shyt, you might get dropped by a bum. My Moms lives on the North right down the way from Uptown in Buena Park and her block is real nice, but you right Uptown can get pretty sketch. Really as soon as you get west of Broadway you should watch your ass if you walking home at night after tossing back a few at the bar. I was up there this past summer chilling at her house and these Hispanic cats had a big ass brawl at Montrose Beach. It was like 100 dudes fighting each other, the cops wouldn't even go in there.

Thats one of the things I love about the Chi, the small family owned and neighborhood food spots are crazy good. Thats why I dont even get why the OP was up there at a Popeyes.. Chicago is the one place where you don't even need to fukk with national chain restaurants.
Thats what i'm saying. My area is peppered with dope eateries. Tons of Burger/hotdog/Italian beef places, quite a few Jamaican restaurants, Home style pizzerias (Traditional and Jewish owned with special bread), Indian food, mexican...you name it. And the food is relatively cheap compared to chains. Only chain I frequent is Dunkin Donuts. Everything else

Damn, I forgot the Chi had rules like that.. It's been years since I used to live there. But I stayed in Edgewater area for most of the time so I always thought it was a safe area. Keep in mind tho, I was around 9-13 during the time I lives there. Good to see you're alright.

Though you might as well call that part Andersonville North. Most of the cocked hat, colored clothing shyt died in the early 2000s. Too easy for them to get snatched up by the cops. I love Atlanta to the end but I've always had a weak spot in my heart for the Chi. Dope fukking city, great food, cool ass down to earth people and hella hood rats to flirt with. Its crazy that Chicago gets such a bad rap in the media, I dont think most Americans realize how fun it is up there just hanging out.
