Sex is different than gender. Sex is what you are biologically; gender has to do with being masculine vs feminine. A bad parent would try and push his/her child into specific gender roles in spite of that child's own personality just to please society. I live in a predominantly white area and went to a predominantly white high school where we had a gay/straight alliance club. So its not just in the "hood" where thses types of actions are taking place.

To be honest, there are men who are born with a high enough level of estrogen to make them androgynous. Ive known men who had literally the voice of a woman, female mannerisms, body shape, and a penis that was almost vestigial. They were almost indistinguishable from women without closer inspection.
