Military already told him to don't even think about it, that's why he was trying to grab the hurricane funds.
Not only that, the Republicans know that this is their last stand

They will likely lose the senate in 2020 and then one of two things could happen

1. Democratic President that will declare all sorts of shyt National Emergencies (Infrastructure, Universal Healthcare, Free College, etc.)

2. Congress and Senate that will do whatever the fukk they want with a slim majority and some "across the aisle" negotiations.

On the surface, yes, it’s simple. I understand that but if that were the case, why has this become so unreasonably complex for this to get done? It just seems like they’re both going in circles with Trump causing a lot of the damage. The Democrats need to stop a bit of barking and start to bite hard at this thing.

You said you are overseas so maybe this reads differently without being in Trump’s America daily but here’s the ultimate problem.

If the Dems negotiation with this shutdown then when another spending bill comes up in 8 months, guess who won’t be afraid to shutdown the government to get more concessions?

Stuff like Roe v Wade isn’t being struck down with one decision. It’s being slowly rolled back with limits.

Although Trump deserves the majority of the blame, the Democrats share a bit as well. It takes two to tango and both are having a rough time going about it. True, the Democrats have brought things to the table, but you can sense the pure distain of Trump which makes an average person wonder if they’re really trying.

The longer this goes on, the overall narrative will be how both sides aren’t working together to get this done. The lines will start to get blurred on who’s fault this is.

Wrong.

Trump can stop this at any time.

The constitution has checks and balances to prevent the president from spending money without the approval of Congress.

Trump is holding 800,000 people hostage because he cant spend that money with the approval of Congress. This is for a wall paid with Tax payer money, not money from the Mexican government, like he said.

This house was elected as a check on his executive power.

He is 100% to blame.

Stop this bith sides bullshyt.

You can use emotions and opinions to bend narratives BUT those are the facts

Stop looking for monsters in the closet. It's very simple.

i feel bad for the workers, but if it's that bad for you then go start a riot or get a new fukkin job

it's your life :yeshrug: i havent been affected in one fukkin way by the shutdown, and neither has most of the country, which is why it doesn't seem like it's a big deal. show us that it is. go march on washington

I agree with @the cac mamba here. Americans are fukking pussies. TSA workers showing up to work for free. Meanwhile all those republicans keep getting their checks. Trump and his criminal family are breaking every rule to make an extra 100k every year. So, why you keep shopwing up for work for free? So the same stupid fukking Americans that support the shutdown can keep their nose in the air and travel safely ? fukk that. I would be in the streets every day in front of Washington, leading a group of my coworkers to put pressure on those villains, or just get another job.

You should see these fukking cowards lining up to get bags of food and going on tv to cry. I don't give a shyt. Make your voice heard. You have a lot of power.

If that was Haiti or Europe, this country would have been upside down.

I agree with this. Now I'm priveleged in that I'm not a government worker but they have a LOT of power. If all of TSA stopped showing up to work this shyt becomes VERY real and literally stops the country.

I hate all the pandering that's going on and the victim angle people are playing. shyt is disgusting.

i mean im not tryna act like a fukkin tough guy like i'd be storming the white house if i was in the TSA, but goddamn :why: stop showing up to work. what else is there to say?

if my boss told us he was gonna build a wall between us and the next company, and he was gonna make them pay for it. and then he didnt make them pay for it, and stopped our paychecks because he couldnt make them pay for it? i would be one of several employees to give him the :camby:
