I had a family friend whose son was a senior in economics from a top 20 institution and they know I worked at a top 5 global company in leadership so they wanted me to talk to him.

I was like, little nikka, you fukked up! You are about to get a degree with a white man and jewish man's industry. What you trying to get, get a doctorate and become a professor teaching about this shyt. He looked at me like I was a ghost. I asked simple questions. Did you get an internship yet? Nope! Any interviews? Nope! Any offers? I didn't get an internship or an interview but I asked. I am like, nikka, there is a reason why HBCUs don't put too much into that shyt. That shyt is dead at arrival for nikkas and you a nikka that's going to a non-HBCU and you expect to get a chance? nikka, you might as well just went to ICDC and called it a day. Devry and ITT Tech would have been a better use of your time. Ideally, you should have gone to HCC. He was looking at me wtf!

I sat him down. The first thing I told him, nothing has changed. No industries cater to Blacks and unless you are in NSBE, you aren't going to get ANY looks at all unless your school has an earmark and as an economist, the professors tell the kids they are targeting behind the scenes about these positions. This is :mjpls:

I asked about his strengths and weaknesses. I knew he was smart but he really had a passion for tech but his true love was the economy. I said, you in a tech hub city. Man, sign up for a bootcamp, learn how to code since I am listening to your mindset, you could be a good coder. He was stubborn at first. You know how nikkas is. He grad from the college and went home with nothing but his degree. Went to bootcamp, got a job making like 60-70k. In no time joined Amazon or Google, shyt, idk and is making bank. We black, unless you Boule or your daddy/momma is some diplomat or wealthy person with influence, you better take your black ass to something that hires us and pays. If he wanted to go into economics, his only options were Hampton and Howard. Otherwise, you just wasting your time. I know Harvard and Yale grads who learned the hard way :mjpls: Being Black is a severe cap where you gotta move like an ant and hope you don't get stomped on.
I initially had plans to go to law school that’s why I took economics but when that didn’t pan out. Here I am.

Law school ain't the business. Johnnie Cochran had nikkas thinking this is a route for us like Basketball when it's basically Golf with Tiger Woods. Some industries are white and Jewish. Maybe some Asians sprinkled in with Indians. Yes, if you are an elite Boule, you got a chance but you already know if you that or not. If you aren't, don't think you are.

Freshmen have to stay on campus sweetheart. That's non-negotiable and how many students who are in the freshman class live with their parents? not many

4. Are freshmen required to live on campus?
While we do recommend that first year students live on campus, it is not a requirement. Learn more about on-campus housing at www.housing.ufl.edu.
Admissions FAQ

Although no student is required to reside in University housing facilities, entering freshmen are encouraged to do so to avail themselves of the opportunities provided by the University Housing staff.

I don’t really see too much wrong with what he said.

Now, as an engineer, I’m an advocate for higher education, but it made sense for me, and folks should pursuit higher education with a plan. I’ve come across too many young brothers that went to college, didn’t get an internship or co-op, and come out of college stuck. My lil brother went into higher education, graduated with quite a bit of debt, and now he’s trying to go into a trade. He should’ve did that from the start, but my fam wanted him to go to college and that’s what he did. It didn’t make sense. Thank god he didn’t go out of state like he originally wanted to.

Right message wrong messenger. He understands his base tends to be less educated and believe colleges turns people into “leftists” so he’s just playing his base. Just like trump and any other politician.

I wonder if his son wanted to drop out of Harvard and become a plumber would he feel the same way?:unimpressed:
