I'm very pleased "Daughters" got 2 nominations considering the song did not chart very well and didn't get the airplay it deserved. NaS got to get 1 win out of those 4 but he's got tough competition. The Grammy's love giving KanYe and Jay awards, I'm hoping they change it up this year.

Also everyone talking ish about 2 Chainz, this brother had grinded and worked hard. He isn't some newbie getting lucky. He's having the year of his life. Gold LP, #1 album now 3 Grammy nods, wow. With all that said, his album is average and shouldn't be in the Best Rap album Category.

I think this is the most nominations he's ever received in one ceremony. He's gonna win best rap/sung collaboration and if there was ANY fukking justice in the world he'd win best rap album but I'm not going to get my Stan hopes up for that (I think the CACS will give it to drake, which actually I won't be upset about since Take Care made my list of best albums of 2011)

Props to the academy for showing love to Lupe also. f&L2 is an incredible return to form for Lupe and one of the most lyrically excellent albums of the year. I'm actually not upset at any of the Best Rap album nominations for once

Amen. I called the Cherry Wine grammy nod months ago, as did others in the classic LIG thread. That shyt was a given. I also think Daughters has a shot to win, but I wouldn't bet on it; a lot of old cacs vote on the Grammy board, and Daughters seems like a song many would reward.

Not holding up any hope for it getting hip hop AOTY though.

Daughters is a great song and the academy would do well to reward that type of subject matter and message over the triviality of nikkas In Paris. Kanye got ROBBED out of Album Of The Year honors last year for MBDTF but Nas has been getting snubbed for years. I think his BEST chance is with Cherry Wine as A). The academy apparently loves giving posthumous awards and B). That song has more "universal" appeal but Daughters really is a brilliant, heart felt track and I think it would mean a bit more to recognize it as the best rap song of the year


Either way as long as the Goat wins I'm happy

Yeah as long as its Drake, Lupe (looooonnnnggg shot) or The Roots who wins rap AOTY I won't be too too upset (even though LIG is better than both) but 2 Chainz winning would be a travesty to Hip Hop in the veins that the Carter 3 winning was absolutely despicable. 2 Chainz doesn't have the sold a million in a week argument either fukk that nomination...

I have a feeling Drake walks away empty again. I think Best Rap album is his best shot but I feel like NaS and the Roots are front runners. Best Rap Song is between NaS and Jay and KanYe. Best Sung Rap song is between NaS and KanYe, Jay and Frank. I hate to say it cause she passed but "Cherry Wine" is NaS best shot but it's actually a good song. As for RnB Heads. Miguel got about 3 Nods, Frank Ocean got 5 Nods. Usher got a nod as well as Chris Brown. RiRi got about 2 Nods. Wow @ them Blanking Nicki Minaj. I guess cussing out Mariah and beefin with Steven Tyler is coming back to haunt her. I know it shouldn't be about that but Grammy are always about politics.
