He didn't produce most of those. Most of that's the SugarHill house band that did everybody's music.

10 classic beats produced by Flash. Go.

i dont like much of eric's chit after '93.

Even if... EPMD & Red's shyt btwn '88-'93 >>> whatever records Flash did that were dope.

And that's no dis to Flash. He's one of the great pioneers and pivotal DJs in hip-hop. But his production discography is wild light.

I acknowledge grandmaster Flash and the Furious's 5's impact, and what they mean to Hip Hop. But I gotta go with EPMD, they're arguably the GOAT duo.

After careful consideration I went with Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five

Even though I like EPMD more as an overall group I couldn't look past the overall impact of Flash and Mel. Flash may not be the most technical of DJs but his impact is immeasurable and you can make a case for Mel being the Greatest EMCEE as Moe Dee did in his book on EMCEEs.

Tomorrow I may say EPMD because of that 4 album run and them being one of the first to bring that funk into sampling. But today I went with the old school.

No one can't deny what Flash and 'em did. That would just be crazy. If we're talkin' impact, they clearly got it. But I always see the polls as what I'm listening to the most, or have. Who I'm a bigger fan of, that kinda thing.

EPMD might be the only group in Hip Hop history to have 4 straight classic albums. They've been my second favorite group after ATCQ forever. You'd have to sit for a minute and chill, if you were gonna list all of their classic songs. Those two cats had MUSIC!!

See if it's a poll on who I listen to more or like then I would go with EPMD. Yeah you can make case for EPMD with the 4 album classic run along with Eric B & Rakim, Outkast, Run DMC, De La, PE...

So whoever came first is gonna own all the face-offs? Like it doesn't matter how much great music an act produced if the one they're against came before them?
depends on the impact. In this case the older group had a HUGE impact while putting out a lot great music just not necessarily in album form.

I've been going purely off personal preference - what else really matters? :yeshrug:
I voted Black Moon over PE early on - because Enta Da Stage was just that important to me - but I can't justify that vote any other way.
