In terms of sheer quality, not nostalgia or what you grew up on...it's the 70's. Maybe 60's if you value tight pop songwriting like Motown.

90s is a close 2nd but man the best 70s shyt sounds like it was made by aliens now. 70s was peak soul, jazz fusion, funk, disco, hard rock & punk AND post-punk, peak reggae/dub music, Fela Kuti, Brazil was dropping classic after classic, even the French were putting in work
