Nash and D'antoni biggest disappointments ever :mjlol:

all that regular season noise and never even made the finals :mjlol:
:francis: They had the worst luck. Joe Johnson breaks his face and misses the 2005 playoffs and the owner gets so cheap he leaves as a free agent. Stoudemire blows out his knee in 2006. Those bullshyt suspensions in 2007. Then the owner forced the Marcus Banks and Shawn Marion for :shaq: trade in 2008 that completely altered everything about how they played :martin:. Replaced Pringles with terry porter who wanted to play at a slow pace after that :snoop:. Then he gets cheap and Stoudemire leaves as a free agent and that’s a wrap :pacspit:. They had one healthy postseason with no bullshyt that happened coming from the league office. It’s probably either them or the Greg Oden/Brandon Roy/Lamarcus Aldridge blazers. Those three player 62 total games together and won 50 of them. They had next in the West :snoop:

Sun's run:
'05 Spurs L WCF
'06 Mavs L WCF
'07 Spurs L WSF
'08 Spurs L 1st round
'09 I can't remember
'10 Lakers L WCF (Gentry?)
Missed them in 2009.

D Rose Thibs Bulls?

But no 09 or 10 Cavs?

:francis:
Those bulls had a core team of multiple players that were critical to their success and weren’t hopelessly dependent on Rose. shyt, he missed 2012-13 and 2013-14 and they still made the playoffs and won a game 7 on the road. LeBron left Cleveland and they went 19-63 with 26 straight losses and were a bottom 3 offense and a bottom 3 defense . Isn’t that kind like having expectations for the 2004-07 lakers or 2007-10 heat?

H-Town
Jail Blazers run
'00 Lakers L WCF
'01 Lakers L 1st round sweep
'02 Lakers L 1st round sweep
'03 Mavs L WCSF

:patrice:

On one hand they lost to the champs 3 straight years... on the other hand 2 of those were 1st round embarrassments as low seeds..

On the other hand, the Mavs series led to "both teams played hard"

Is it a disappointment if you were entertained by the disappointment?

Suns weren't necessarily disappointing as much as they had an insurmountable run of bad luck, because if things did go their way, they probably would've won a couple of titles. And as it was noted in this thread, the Suns lost to the eventual champs THREE times. Whereas although the Clippers did have a # of playoff runs cut short or affected by injuries, they still chocked and/or gave away series' that were winnable too (Memphis in '13, OKC in '14, Houston in '15 and Jazz in '17).

Blake was hurt in 2013 and 2017 as well as what happened in 2016.

Yeah but 2014 and 2015 they straight up blew it. Should have been in the WCF back to back years
Does it really make a difference though? They weren’t beating the spurs in 2014 with the mission they were on, and do we really need to debate what it would’ve looked like if they matched up with the warriors? I think they’ve lost their last 14 matchups and been blown out in all of them now. We may have seen the record for largest margin of victory in any playoff series ever if they played the clips instead of the rockets.
