You already have a replacement on the coaching staff to finish out the season if Schiano gets fired halfway through. Dave Wannstedt, known as a players coach, is sitting there as the Special Teams Coordinator.

:lolbron:

you know Schiano reading the ballots on some :mjpls: nah I ain't having no Josh Freeman as my team captain

Freeman in his 5th season in the NFL and Schiano straight up telling him Mike Glennon coming for his ass

They don't respect that coach. He trying to bully bullies.

In regard to Freeman, that dude is soft as gunplays chin he is not winning anything in this league.

The bucs a bunch of knuckleheads tho... see Lavonte David, Bowers :manny:

that's the second coach that can't get it right. Must be something wrong....

You obviously dont know what youre talking about breh.

As for the team quitting on Raheem..that shyt was bound to happen. Dude let them nikkas walk all over him, he didnt put his foot down enough. We went from one extreme to the other

I remember all the analysts talking about how Schiano was gonna bring discipline and a much needed toughness to that football club that Raheem couldn't deliver on....

Greg Schiano: Josh Freeman overslept last Monday

Greg Schiano would have loved if his Thursday press conference dealt solely with his team's upcoming matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Instead, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach spent a good portion of his availability discussing Josh Freeman and the drama surrounding the quarterback following the team's ugly 18-17 loss to the New York Jets last Sunday.

Schiano said Freeman overslept last Monday, causing him to miss the team photo session. He said the issue was addressed internally, though he also acknowledged the quarterback has been late for other functions.

"I do trust Josh," Schiano said. "Josh and I share a lot of things together."

Schiano also discussed the players-only meeting last week.

"I was aware there was going to be a players only meeting before the game which I'm always fine with," Schiano said. "I trust the players and the leadership, and if the team wants to talk among themselves I think it's healthy. I was not aware of any question on captain's vote, because there isn't any."

Freeman was not voted a team captain, leading to a report that players had questioned the validity of the vote. Schiano said Wednesday any theory that the voting was rigged against Freeman is "100 percent inaccurate."

"When you have mishaps, you have things where guys don't do what they're supposed to do when they're supposed to do it, does it concern me? Sure it does," he said. "But the same guy has done a lot of things that he is supposed to do, when he's supposed to do them in clutch situations dating back as late as Sunday, he took the team down and put us in field-goal range to win the game."

Schiano is saying the right things, but you get the feeling this is headed in a certain direction. Mike Glennon waits in the wings, representing a fresh start for a coach who might need one.

Quote from Schiano today :bryan: :russ: :dahell: :deadmanny: :wtf:

“Any time that as a coach you’re trying to instill winning habits in your entire football team, in your organization, really. The way we cook the food, the way we practice, the way we clean the building. We want everything to be an elite level,” Schiano said. “So when you have mishaps, you have things where guys don’t do things they’re supposed to do when they’re supposed to do it, does it concern me? Sure it does.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This hack still doesn't get it. I promise you this will be his first and last gig in the league.

to be fair?

any player on the bucs that "rocks the boat", so to speak, is a goddamn idiot.

people saying, "schiano is going to be out of the league in a year". ok, fair enough, he probably will be.

but guess what? he'll be right back in d1, making a few million a year.

guess what else? 95% of the bucs roster is going to be out of the league in 5 years too--only difference is, theyre not going down to D1 ball to make a few million a year.

HOWEVER, if they could act like grown men for 4 months a year, and watch whatever stupid dvd schiano wants to put on the inflight tvs for their 45 minute flight to charlotte, maybe some of these idiots would have jobs on his coaching staff as oline coaches, linebacker coaches.

somebody get TO on the line right now and ask if he would have let andy reid microwave one of his sandwhiches 10 years ago if it meant he could be a wide receiver coach in the NFL right now for a few hundred grand a year.

lol at some of you guys acting like schiano getting blackballed from the NFL is going to kill him. it wont.

being a malcontent of a player, and being blackballed from the league for THAT?

not a bucs fan, dont even care, but just want to see these players with their heads out of their asses for once.

the difference is one of them is coming at them like they grown ass men and the other is dealing with them like my dad dealt with me when I was 6. Cause I said so ain't working on grown ups. They already had a team only meeting after game 1. That's a BAD sign.

Of course...but was just pointing out Schiano is hardly the first or only guy to implement these micromanaging tactics.
