Pop has given the Spurs so much over the last 30 years. While his presence is missed, his health is the priority.

As to whether the Spurs would be better off with a new coach who has new ideas about how to play in this era, well, sure that's a valid argument. But Pop's influence on the Spurs culture and players goes a bit beyond that.

If this is the end, there are no regrets.

Wemby went down and he said "it's a wrap this season". Spurs gonna fukk around and win the Lottery, Pop comes back and wins a ring and then retires. If he didn't have any intentions on returning he would have already said he was retiring. fukking story writes itself.
