It's the NBA 2kification of basketball.

Monta Ellis and Steph curry were the cheese team and you take a bunch of threes or drive to basket off screen/mismatch. Or pull up for fast break threes with guys like arenas, Kobe, Mike red, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, peja, McGrady, Nash etc.

2K was 10years ahead of the real NBA...
Wow you’re right lol

The sport has run its course. Ain’t no “fixing” it. Evolution, take the good and bad. As so is the world.

Every team plays the same way, switch hunt for a mismatch then drive and kick for 3 or drive and draw a foul. That shyt is boring. Every game it’s the same thing.

Actual competing styles is dead.
Honestly, I think we’ve reached the final evolution of basketball.

Only thing NBA fans can hope for is that they can figure how to make regular season more meaningful

Everything comes full circle. The way to combat this would be dominant post play. I don’t wanna hear about 3 being more than 2 either. If the centers from the 90s played today, they would eat. LOL@trying to guard a Shaq or Hakeem playing small ball.
The problem is shaq would have to get a jumper if he going to consistently be on the floor

Nope. They would need to remove the zone defense as well. Those dominant post players were great because you could damn near guarantee they get the ball close to the basket with only one person on them.

Another big elephant in the room and said it before: when you got less Americans at the top, you have less interest by Americans.

Look at Heavyweight boxing.

Luka, Jokic, etc. are cool, but Metro, Mike Will, TM88, etc. and the culture ain't posting their highlights on ig live stories.

What I hate the most about this era is that the defenders pretend it wasn't the rule changes but that the players are just so much more skilled. There is no quantification for skilled though but we know the rules have changed. No need for rule changes if Silver wanted to increase scoring if the players are actually more skilled.
The rule changes are the smallest factor everything that happens today was a direct response to combat the defense of the early 10’s. If teams simply reverted to the shot profile of the past, offenses wouldn’t score as much.

Having a 14 second shot clock off offensive rebounds is more sensical than getting a whole 24 seconds and players should not be using their hands to defend, play D slide them feet

I agree. And some people will blame Steph curry and his effect, but nobody told these centers and power forwards to legit try they best to stay out the point offensively and try to jack up all these threes. KG was the perfect balance of someone who can make a three if open, but prioritizing dominating in the paint and midrange. These bigs are a problem and making shyt worse. But I know it’s not just them, but fans like seing action inside the paint. It’s more exciting than another 3 and another bad 3

IT's sad, it's done trickled down to the HS level, where every team runs "5 out" pass and cut. shyt is so ass. AAU ball has killed the HS game/player.

I haven't seen a post/drop step in 8 years in HS. I remember a time when a big was a big, would dare come up to the 3 point line, let alone lead a fast break :scust:

It sucks and so ass when I hear a coach telling a big man once he gets the rebound to "push, push" :scust:

League isn’t fun to watch during the regular season anymore either. Teams used to have different play styles and it was fun to see them use different strategies and match ups. Western conference was faster paced more run and gun, eastern conference was slower and more defensive. Teams plays the same now and it’s :russell:

And they made it this way exactly for the European players to thrive
It's doubly funny because Luka and a lot of the international players publicly talk about how much easier it is to score in the NBA vs. overseas because of the non-existent defense and lack of physicality allowed. Even the players benefitting the most have no trouble admitting how the changes in officiating and rules make "the premier league on Earth" largely a joke nowadays, especially in the regular season. :pachaha: Shame their idiot stans aren't half as self aware as they are and unironically try to spin it like it's a good thing :unimpressed:

Stop with the conspiracies. :mjlol:

Most of the rule changes are rooted in black innovation of the game.

If it was made for Europeans to thrive then why aren’t the rules identical to those in Europe. :mjlol:
