Hollins stated that ol boy wasn't a defensive coach until he made him a defensive coach

I'm not sure how this will work and IMO the player moves will be more important than this but it could go either way. I'm just glad we didn't get George Karl or Alvin Gentry

Joerger will be the best coach out of all of the new hires. He's a youngish guy who had a ton of success in the D League. He has championships in the D League, CBA and IBA. He's been an assistant in Memphis the past 4-5 years. He has a better minor league resume than Flip Saunders (who had tremendous success in the minors) and Phil Jackson. To me, he's a no-brainer hire. I think he's going to have great success with Memphis.

He's the guy who was behind remodeling Memphis to become an elite defensive team. Lionel Hollins put a lot of his trust to him and for good reason.

Advanced basketball has to do with the personnel, not the system that coaches it.

The only reason Hollins is no longer the Grizzlies coach is because he wouldn't coach his team based on analytics. Everyone knows the coach they hired would be a Hollinger puppet.
