Summary from reddit:

Grizzlies Owner Robert Pera has his entire networth ($30b) tied to his company, Ubiquity, that sells WiFi equipment.

This WiFi equipment is showing up on the frontlines of the Ukraine-Russia war in shocking numbers. Alleged that 80% of Russia's communication network on the frontline relies on these devices. The video has pictures, video, and Russian soldiers on telegram begging for donations like twitch streamers so they can buy more.

Russia is under sanctions, so it should be strictly illegal to sell devices like this to them. His company got in trouble for doing the exact same thing in 2014 when his devices started showing up in Iran, and the US Government fined them $500k, small because it was a first time offense. Grizzlies Owner said if this happened again, he'd be ****.

In the video, they show how easy it is for Ubiquity devices to be bought from third party sellers in Russia. Ubiquity has basically no sales team of its own, it relies on these third party sellers and washes their hands clean of wherever they might end up. This is one way to cut your costs, have no compliance officers.

They even talk to an american third party seller, and pose as a Russian trying to buy $80k worth of devices. They set them up with the transaction, by sending them to Turkey first, then Russia. This is blatant sanctions violation, like a textbook example.

Video ends with Pablo Torres asking if Adam Silver is fining Ja Morant for holding a gun, what should he do with the Grizzlies owner who's evading sanctions (allegedly) making millions off the war in Ukraine while on Team Russia.

I hope Pablo has private security :hubie:

If someone magically pops up showing interest in buying that team :mjpls:

Pablo playing a dangerous game, yea he's just doing investigative journalism, but the intent of whoever supplied the information matters especially with billionaires :whoa: this the 2nd owner he's attempted to get out the paint

Pablo is bringing more attention to Hunterbrook Media's story on the issue:

Also this story came out in 2024 about Ubiquiti equipment being a security risk:

Russian hackers using 'compromised' internet routers for cyber operations, US, international law enforcement warn

That’s snitching!Worry about your own war crimes! (Nasal assIsh from JBP voice) :mjlol:

Apparently they already got a slap on the wrist fine for violating sanctions against Iran too. But that was Obama era, with Trump you’ll get away if you just buy him a nice gift, like supporting some loval republican that can flip a state this year.

Will Pablo keep on getting jobs at companies with deals with the league if he keeps on exposing all the owners :whew: like this is not even sports connected

Norfeast groovin…
Pablo refuses to let Silver rest...

Fr the reaction of some towards his journalism just shows how far expectations have fallen in America for journalism. This is literally what you’re supposed to do. It’s the most worthwhile type of journalism.

It would especially make sense in terms of sports since it’s supposed to be mindless escapism and disassociation rather than a culture of competition that teaches good virtues that help society. I hope Pablo keeps a foot on the neck of the unscrupulous scammers getting rich off of us.
