As a kid it just seemed "normal" because white men always had the ideal lead roles, played the love interest, the hero, even the attractive villain in all the blockbuster films. As I said before, I had seen the trailer to Princess and the Frog. The idea of a black princess was great, but they made her basically a servant/Cinderella role, a frog for 90% of the movie, and the nail in the coffin was that her love interest wasn't black. He was barely a prince. And I HATED it. I don't even play it for my neices.
I am personally not okay with white men being seen as the standard. They get points just for being white" regardless of any talent. Sick of seeing them everywhere.
