Naw it wouldn't have protected him from Shanahan and his son. But during that time he could have used Mcnabb as an allie in the media. I still believe that this was RG3 biggest mistake. Every black QB needs an allie in the media.

If you remember when media folks attacked Cam ...moon stepped in because he was his mentor. Moon does the same thing for Wilson when he is under attack. Mcnabb always was under attack but he had allies in the media that he worked with who would try to push back some of the negative press such as Michael Wilborn and others.

You see how Mcnabb was able to fight shanahan and his son in the media when he was in DC. Mcnabb had a lot of connections so much so that shanahan was like see Mcnabb is smart he has folks doing his dirty work.

To be a black QB is like being a politician. You will be attacked from all angles and need protection from fans, ownership and the media.
