If only he listened to Donovan.
Nah that wouldn't have made a difference. His ego was way out of hand and he was believing his own hype. His rookie year was dope but he was always at odds with Shanny. That overrated prick never wanted him to begin with though. Its a total shyt show down in DC. All involved are accountable.

im pretty sure this isnt as true as you want it.

VY went out of his way to disagree with McNabb on the negative treatment of black QBs.

Dude I posted that McNair mentored VY. Who cares if VY disagreed. Jason Campbell avoided the question but Mcnabb was his mentor.

Mcnabb even made sure to call Campbell during the Washington trade talks to let him know that the Eagles were going to send him to Washington. He wanted Campbell to be the first to know stating there are so few black QBs in the league that it would be wrong not to let him now.

Mcnabb was Vicks mentor. He met Vick when he was in high school to try to get him at Syracuse. He was a mentor to Jamarcus Russell and worked with him one offseason. He also mentored Nate Davis and a few other Kats.

Dude was always looked at as a mentor during his time in the league. Do you remember the game when the Eagles beat the bears and Mcnabb at mid field was giving Cutler a pep talk about keeping his head up and don't let the media get to him?

decided to listen to DC radio for the first time in a few months. Im smilign at the :cape:ing

Danny Roule on 106.7 just said that "with Kirk, you expect a few picks and thats fine" :dead:

Grant Paulsen earlier said the media and fans focus too much on interceptions. :deadrose:

Jason Reid on 980 this AM said Cousins has shown some improvement. He is throwing interceptions in better situations. :deadmanny:

I assumed it was because a Shanny hatchet job piled on with a Gruden hatchet job, but do DC folks/media have an issue with black people in general? He's playing terribly and they're not even acknowledging it.

im not saying McNabb hasnt, im just not sure its universal like you are claiming.

But it doesnt matter either way.

I assumed it was because a Shanny hatchet job piled on with a Gruden hatchet job, but do DC folks/media have an issue with black people in general? He's playing terribly and they're not even acknowledging it.
nah, DC media loves black people and were all in on RG3 until that preseason campaign to get back on the field.

My theory is that RG3 never gave local media that much access. He let the national people do interviews, etc but didnt do much with local media. These people havent forgotten that.

Naw it wouldn't have protected him from Shanahan and his son. But during that time he could have used Mcnabb as an allie in the media. I still believe that this was RG3 biggest mistake. Every black QB needs an allie in the media.

If you remember when media folks attacked Cam ...moon stepped in because he was his mentor. Moon does the same thing for Wilson when he is under attack. Mcnabb always was under attack but he had allies in the media that he worked with who would try to push back some of the negative press such as Michael Wilborn and others.

You see how Mcnabb was able to fight shanahan and his son in the media when he was in DC. Mcnabb had a lot of connections so much so that shanahan was like see Mcnabb is smart he has folks doing his dirty work.

To be a black QB is like being a politician. You will be attacked from all angles and need protection from fans, ownership and the media.

The team owner did not like Shanahan....from what i understand Shanahan was getting salty because the team owner and RG3 were close..... he said RG3 and the owner would have private meetings and talk about how he is a pocket passer. and Shanahan said RG3 came up to him one day talking about how the O needs to change from spread to a pocket pass O so he would not get injured.... Shanahan a fukkboi he sounded mad salty
So RG3 trusted a no football knowing owner over the coach that took his ass to the playoffs? Sounds like Shanahan deserved to be salty

Like I said on here the young folks in this thread need to google some of these old black QBs and understand that Gruden is playing from a 50 plus year old playbook when it comes to dealing with black QBs in the media.

Folks on here actually shocked at this shyt? Yall folks need to read up on Doug Williams, James Harris, Joe Gilliam, Eldridge dikkey and Marlin Briscoe to see how real this shyt is.

When the young man got drafted I knew he was walking in a hornets nest. Shanahan always been for self. Folks act like him and Elway didn't stab Dan Reeves in the back.

RG3 thought he was one of them (European) and that was his downfall. He's going to go to Philly next year and ball like Bo Didley..

DC football is a graveyard

My Ravens though :to:

Since it's a lot of Skins fans in here...

Brehs, I moved to Charlotte and I'm having a terrible time fighting the urge to bandwagon jump. Got Cam over here putting up unprecedented levels of black excellence and the whole city riding for him. Meanwhile, skins gonna skin. I don't know how long I can hold up
:mjcry:

I think there's only 2 excuses for jumping teams:

1. You move to the city
2. You're a WOMAN who marries a man who roots for another team.
