Honestly I gotta respect his ruthlessness...he played his hand perfectly.

Paying out his contract if he's fired would likely force a sale of the Raiders because they don't have the cash to make it happen...and borrowing any more money than they already have would force a sale of the team (they'd be in violation of NFL franchise debt limits).
