How many rappers did Gucci truly put on? Aside from Waka

Y'all overstate the hell out of Gucci

considering when you first heard Jeezy it was because he was first featured on a GUCCI song of all things :mjpls:

Tried to finesse that track out of Gucci and put it on TM101 but Zaytoven and Gucci wasn't having that :mjlol:

And I see you didn't answer the question of who has Jeezy put on :mjpls:

I remember when Trap of Die dropped back in '05... spent spring break that year in Daytona and Miami. EVERY whip was blasting that tape.... all you heard was Jeezy. Went back to Atl after spring break and you already know how it was there if Jeezy was getting that kinda burn in FL. Then went to NY for the summer... that's all I heard. Jeezy owned that summer.... heck might as well say he owned that year. He literally had the streets on lock that year. Never seen anything like it since. The only thing that has come anywhere close to it is the run Future had late 2014 through summer 2015. Jeezy ushered in what we know as trap music today.... He may have not put on as many people in the game as Guwop but a lot of these artists are his children/ clones. Even down to adlibs.... made it cool, and now it's done so much we don't even realize it. Half the songs we hear today are what they are because of the adlibs. Love him or hate him dude changed the game in '05 with that mixtape followed by TM101. He created the blueprint for "Trap Music"

Gucci cosigns run deep bruh

Nicki Minaj

Future (down south outside of Atlanta first heard of him from Free Bricks )
Waka
OJ
Migos
peewee Longway
Scooter
Young Dolph
young thug
Mike will
Zaytoven
Metro boomin

Future
French Montana
Nicki
Young Thug
Migos
RHQ
Mike Will and Rae Sremm by extension
Keef (indirectly)
Fetty WAP ( indirectly)
Kodak (indirectly)
Dolph
Scooter
Bankroll Fresh
Ilovemakonen (indirectly)

And a ton more

Most of this is fluff

Being featured on one of Gucci 100 tapes doesn't mean you were "put on" by him

Nicki was on before Gucci and no one knows a lot of these people cause of their Gucci Affliliation

Waka , Thugga , migos and OJ his artist or he put them on with coach k

Mike will made it was on that old no pad no pencil Dvd when he was a nobody screaming his name saying we would hear his beats on some Gucci /so Icey beats with waka , bambino gold and wooh da kid

Gucci got nicki poppin down south she was only known thru some come up DVDs up top before Gucci

He plugged migos with QC /coach k after hearing bando

He put on peewee Longway who now one of Atlantas hottest rappers

Those Gucci mix tapes got a buzz for Dolph , scooter , future rich homie Quan etc like I said a lot of nikkas thought free bricks was just Gucci and ain't know who future was til that mixtape dropped and he linked with future early knowing he had some fire shyt with him before he blew up elsewhere ....same with Young Thug and the others I named

He was the first artist to see something in them and link up with them before they blew up ...whoever Gucci worked with got poppin that's a fact

Everybody know the story bout Zay and Gucci and the so Icey records

808 mafia was basically put on my brick squad as well

I like em both but these arguments for Gucci are corny.

Gucci made more records - okay? were they better records?
Gucci put on more people - lol. that doesn't make him a better rapper. and how many of those guys can crack a top 200 list?

only thing Gucci has on jeezy is that you can say hes more of a cultural figure for southern & Midwest types.

this is like trying to put UGK on the same platform as the hot boys.

Gucci to me has made better and more consistent quality music than Jeezy but in reality they are totally different rappers. They dont rap about the same stufd no matter how much we link them together

ATL…overly
Tough question :francis:

If we gon keep it a buck, Jeezy has had more commercial success with this trap shyt. At his peak, 05-07, he was making better music too. Gucci to me has always represented the underdog in the streets and he's got one of the GOAT work ethics and ears for music. His overall influence >>>Jeezy (Jeezy's most significant influence in the streets was over 10 years ago with Trap or Die and the Snowman shyt), Gucci is just as relevant if not more so plus he's inspired a whole generation with his style and ability to find talent

Right now I'd take Gucci over Jeezy and this is as someone who has been a fan of both

heres the thing tho. and i don't even agree with Gucci being more consistent than jeezy. but hypothetically, lets say i did agree.

its easier to stay consistent with quality when you never made THAT CHIT. jeezy has standout albums & classic mixtape(s). Gucci on the other hand doesnt even have a tape of reference that people go-to when arguing in his favor. they just post random tracks and hope that their argument sticks.

another thing is,when you drop THAT CHIT, people tend to be more critical of the music you drop afterwards. while the rappers that never made THAT chit, get graded on a curve.

and i havnt heard jeezy's recent stuff. but the couple albums before that, i would still take over Gucci's tapes. i understand people in the south & such feel slighted cuz jeezy didn't stay put making the same stuff, but its not like he sold out like TIP or anything. shoot, a lot of them weren't even giving the recession its props until recently, and that's jeezy's best album imo.

That's the reason why they started beefing, jeezy threw a fit because so icy wasn't on his album.

Gucci with the oooWOP.

Your little networking story is cute BTW.
I hope that wasn't an attempt to show that jeezy is more influential than gucci.
