IT shooting 38% for the Lakers and still is a black hole on defense

Crowder shooting 39% for the Jazz and is still a tweener on defense

Since Wade went to Miami his FG%, rebounds, and assists all went down - his points went up slightly only because his shots have gone up

Derrick Rose averaging 6ppg on 40% shooting since he joined the Wolves

None of those guys is going to be the answer at their position on a contender.
Neither are the guys CLE traded for

Hill had a much better shot at being a starter on a contending team than IT did because he recently was a plus defender and he's not 5'8". He doesn't look like he has his game together yet, but he's only 31 so I'm not counting him out. You wouldn't want him to be your 3rd option, but he could be the 4th or 5th guy.

Hood definitely has the potential to be the starting SG on a contender - he has the potential at both ends, we just have to see if he ever lives up to it. Wade was clearly done and it was only going to go downhill.

Larry Nance Jr. could be a backup big on a contender. Crowder's issue is that he's a tweener on defense so he only fits in a very particular lineup, and his 3pt shooting isn't good enough to be a solid 3-and-D guy.

Clarkson could be the backup point on a contender. Rose is done.

Like I said at the time of the trade, those guys didn't make the Cavs contenders. The Cavs were still short a starting center who could protect the rim at least, and an above-average 3-and-D guard too if either Hill or Hood don't excel. But they at least had the chance of being 4 plus pieces on a contender, which is more than you could say for all the guys they replaced except maybe Crowder (who clearly didn't fit on this team).

I bet I can go into the Lakers thread right now and count all you nikkas furious as fukk at IT. Didn't he just go 1-8 and miss a game winner against the Heat that had y'all fuming?

Lol all you need to do is do a search on Isiah Thomas on twitter and read laker fan reactions:russ::russ:

but HEY....if Bron was holding him back I am sure the Laker brehs wont mind Magic and the front office throwing him a nice meaty 3-4 yr deal..

Am I right? :troll::troll::troll::troll::troll::troll::troll:

I know..... thats probably gonna happen.... but if not it would be quite a story for him to come back against the team that injured him and lead the Spurs to knock them out in the 1st round.... thats ultimate justice

Martha
