Hell, some these dudes don't even believe we should have arms to defend ourselves from some racist civilians and rouge beat cops like in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.

Furthermore, I'd say even today that there's probably obvious discrimination against black people in states with tight "may issue" gun laws for getting a CCW, like California where it's up to the discretion of the racist police or sheriffs department on whether they grant you the right to carry based on whether or not you have 'just cause', regardless if you pass the criminal background check or not. Sounds a lot like the tight gun laws of the Old South(see MLK getting his CCW request denied).

Whereas in here Texas ANYONE who passes a criminal background check must be issued a ccw, so there's a lot less room for arbitrary discrimination on the part of the police/sheriffs department. And I'll reiterate again that Texas has a far lower BLACK homicide rate than California. Their tight gun laws don't seem to be helping our people up there.
