Gun violence is now the #1 cause of death for children in the US. Black children are six times as likely to be killed by a gun.

You deny that rap music has an affect on human beings so here you go breh. Give this a quick watch:

The guy in this video is detailing how rap music inspired him to become a "street dude" and actually went so far as to sell drugs DESPITE his parents being literal millionaires and coming from a well-to-do environment.

This is just one single person who happens to be able to tell his story on a large platform. Imagine the millions who haven't told their story.

After you watch this, you'll never be able to say again that music doesn't have the ability to influence behavior. You're hearing it directly from someone's mouth.

The problem with the black community is self hate and low self esteem due to longstanding oppression.

Saying black people are “influenced” by hip hop is moot because the entire world is influenced by hip hop. That’s not the reason for our high crime rates. Taking one persons anecdotal experience and decisions in life doesn’t make it true for the entire black population. Most black people with young bergs upbringing become successful productive adults.

What people don’t talk about is black crime decreases to almost 0 the higher the socioeconomic status. Well to do black communities have low to no crime whereas middle and upper class white america is where you will find some of the most violent and sadistic criminals

He can't blame this on rap, fukk are you tagging him for?

This is all republicans lobbying for even looser gun control laws. Everybody shouldn't have guns. The ones that do should be trained and well versed in usage and containment.

Even having a gun in the household increases the chances of suicide by like tenfold. not to mention hotheads, kids grabbing unsecured guns and shooting themselves/parents/schools, accidental deaths during self protection
Notice how when white males go on killing rampages and target innocent and vulnerable populations such as children and the elderly, the white media always deflects accountability from white culture to “gun control” as if the guns are picking themselves up and killing people

When you have black crime on the other hand, we don’t get the same gun control narrative. When referring to unusually high crime cities like Chicago the narrative is always the need to be “tough on crime”

Is them denying accountability stopping the white men from going on killing sprees? Are there less dead people, because they won’t address their inner conflicts? Would perhaps people addressing their inner conflicts among their groups, instead of placing blame on the government make the men think twice about shooting people? Do white people make these shootings part of their culture, and have music artists recreating school shootings in music videos, and making songs about them?

Y’all care more about narrative, and image, than you do the people actually doing the shooting. We don’t stand up and say, stop acting like that. We blame the system, and black people live day to day not attempting to better ourselves, because we get to use the excuse of white supremacy. When we start hearing more stories of brehs who did everything right, went to college, or got a trade, and didn’t have children out of wedlock, and still can’t find work, then we’ll have a stronger case. I am not denying the effects of the system, but to take no personal actions to better yourself is ridiculous. These brehs shooting are living luxurious lives. They rob, shoot, terrorize, and STILL live in the hood, in poverty. Are they making anonymous donations to black schools and organizations? No. Are they starting businesses, and at least laundering the money? No.

Yes to your first question. The fact that white people refuse to acknowledge their culture of perpetual violence and hatred why it continues to exist. Violence is ingrained in their culture. Instead of putting it songs they put it in movies. They put it online on forums such as Reddit. They’re the ones responsible for the violence in hip hop music. They’re the ones paying for the concerts and albums and they own the labels.

Your second paragraph is just typical Reddit white supremacist talking points. I’m not even going to bother responding to c00n narratives this early :mjlol:

Most depressing thing I ever seen. We were trending in the right direction until 2014. What changed?

JMm8dZQ.jpeg
Seriously. How did this happen? Did the poverty rate increase? Did spending on social programs get cut? I want to blame drill music but there has to be a more academic answer to this.

In hindsight, the Obama era seemed so hopeful and progressive. Gun homicides were trending down. And the culture (hip hop culture) seemed to be more focused on having a good time in the club. What changed? Was Drill music (and this culture focused on murding "opps" aka other black men) a reflection of increasing poverty and wealth inequality? I want answers. Aswers that don't align with my more reactionary view on things.

@Rhakim or any other well informed breh on here, explain

Translation:

We can’t possibly better ourselves, without the white man holding our hand through life. We know the difference between right and wrong, and we’re going to do the wrong thing on purpose, and blame the system.

Hiphop is toxic and has poisoned the youth and most of our minds also.

The most brilliant Black minds are get ran out of Black Communities.
Their minds were poisoned before hip hop. We have European names. We still worship slave religions. Our food is poison. Children can’t even learn black history in schools. We speak a European language. All of this occurs before they can recite the lyrics to a hip hop song. Art imitates life. All hip hop is our poisoned minds spilling over into our black creativity in the form of violent hip hop music.

I notice ya'll only posting percentages.

The CDC publishes data on the leading causes of death among different demographic groups, providing the most reliable data. In 2020, the leading cause of death among children ages one through 18 involved a firearm. There were 3,219 such deaths in 2020, followed by motor vehicle traffic deaths, of which there were 2,882.

I'm not falling for anymore propaganda.

The need to fit in..
The principal image of the Black man is some gangster or criminal, and rappers made that image cool so here we are.

With the social clout and getting rewarded with dysfunctions. No superthug ever got accused of being a sellout for harming (law abiding) black people.
