I had a gym teacher which was a drug dealer . He got arrested though cause the people who he use to work with broke into a pharmacy and stole mad Oxys and they got caught and they snitched. He was mad cool . But the principal was asking everyone if he sold drugs to them . I guess he didn't . shyt , that dude might still be locked up . He use to drive a new Pontiac vibe and some other best up piece of shyt . This was back in 2007 .

Maybe the goat job, but damn what an unfulfilling way to spend your life. Like you've just said fukk it to using your mind constructively. A lot of the gym teachers around my hometown are grand fathered into the job and are usually a coach of one of the sports teams. I'm pretty sure 80% of the gym teachers/coaches that were around when I was in middle school (besides the one that was fondling one of my boys gf when we were in 8th grade) are still kicking around

Nope. It's just as, if not more challenging, than teaching general ed. Not easy at all. The days of shuffling all of the kids with IEP's into a room to play with legos all day is over. They're actually expected to perform to standards now. And I'm happy about that. That's another discussion though.

I didn't know NYC gym teachers salary was that low, thought they at least got 60K.

Goes up to just a little under 60k (I think 58) with a Master's degree.

Now that I think back, gym teachers were some of the coolest teachers I had. My gym teacher in HS was like a homeboy, nikka used to fukk around with us and talk shyt, used to play basketball with us on Fridays too. He would shyt a J in somebody's face and yell out FACEMOB! He also reached out to college coaches at the school I eventually went to go to even though I had quit hoopin after my sophomore year. Bruh looked out for me

This I taught at the high school level. It's like how the fukk can I show u the same thing every day and u still be stuck at the same problem. Shot is aggravating. Like riding through the city and catching every red light.and then it's like every weekend these nigguh's gets flashed by MIB members cuz they don't remember shyt untaught them come Monday.


The worst were the teacher pets and the snitches always in ur Cotdamn face. It's like if u good then u good and leave me the fukk alone. I got enough issues trying to deal with alonzso dumb ass who thinks that Kwanzaa is a Jewish holiday.

Yeah I'd be miserable as a teacher.

A friend who's a teacher brought me in to his high school give a guest lecture on DJing, turntablism and what not.....It was completely miserable for me and I was teaching a subject that I'm passionate about and many kids were interested in. You have to deal with immaturity, kids who won't pay attention no matter what, kids socializing and just being patient when people don't get it right away. I can't even imagine teaching math....sheesh. That's when I gained all the respect in the world for teachers because you really have to care and fight through everything to get them and unfortunately for me, like 50 cent said, "2pac loved the kids, i don't give a shyt about anyone else's kid." I would just check out mentally.......I've seen too many teachers do this and it's clear they're on there for a check which is sad.

I still tutor. For what it was I actually liked that job. I wasn't to far removed from the age group of my students. It was frustrating but for some of them it was even more frustrating for them as it is for the educator.
