UNDERRATED is NOT even the word. You know what it takes to make a track like this work? This is outstanding work right here.

No. Not even close. GZA is one of the best MC's in hip hop history. Def Top 25. Budden is a D-list rapper that will probably most be remembered for his bytch made ways and getting punched in the face by a WuTang henchman. But I expected you to come in here and say some dumb shyt on behalf of Budden, Digga.

First off, you are the last person in this thread who should be talking about blasphemy man :pachaha:

I'm fuming? You actually gave me my first laugh of the day. Don't mistake me correcting your idiocy for me actually being upset.

To say that GZA is on a different realm of lyricism than Lu, Em or Andre 3000 is a perfect example of "You want it to be one way, but it's the other way." Not liking someone does not = the person you do like is better than them. A perfect example of this is the fact that I can't stand Eminem's music, but it doesn't change the reality that, besides Lupe, he is probably the most gifted pure emcee I've ever heard. Being able to separate the bias from the realities of the world is a good sign of maturity and intellect.

Challenge you for what? Lupe is arguably the greatest lyricist of all time and therefore obviously has dozens upon dozens of tracks I could post, but what will that prove? You've already made up your mind. I'm just here to point out that your conclusions are wrong. A poster in this very thread put Failure as an example, only for you to dismiss it as "not being as genius as Animal Planet" without even explaining why you feel that way. Have you even taken the time to break down Failure? Twilight Zone? Dumb It Down? Since we're on the topic of animal wordplay, what about Animal Pharm? Or are these songs beyond your comprehension, so you'd rather pick the song with the dope, but simpler animal references because it's easier for you to get? Do you think dismissing lyricism you don't understand or like as "fancy wordplay, gimmicks, and rappity rap" strengthens your point, or do you think it makes you look like a fool? And since layers of depth in lyrics hurts your head, what about the more straight forward lyrical gems like The Cool? The Coolest? Put You On Game? Streets On Fire? Hurt Me Soul? Unforgivable Youth? The Instrumental? Vold War? Are these not lyrical masterpieces? Still too deep for you? Lol.

I don't like to spend too much time getting into back and forths with nikkas over the internet, because I know when they're forced to swallow a reality they can't accept that nikkas suddenly get indigestion. I'll just end my participation in this thread for a track I love by saying you cannot say GZA is in a class of his own while mentioning lyricism, Eminem, Andre 3000, Jay Electronica, and Lupe fukking Fiasco in the same sentence. Those guys(along with a prime era Jay-Z and Nas) are outrageously skilled and very much elite lyricists to anyone with a credible opinion.

Lupe is that you? :ohhh:

@Billy Ocean

you know what it is? its the stans go overboard.

i personally never liked lupe since he popped on the scene. the kid had all the wrong looks for me. put on by lames like kanye and pharell, fake skateboarder, etc.

i got a friend who thinks hes this generations nas' so i unbiasly gave him some listens and i thought he was pretty good. mind you i own none of his songs, albums etc. but i do recognize his lyrical ability. talented writer.

this is a perfect example of lupes skill; my favorite song by him.

now on the flipside i can give lupe his props even though he came in the game fakin jax and violatin some rules.

but these kids cant do the same for the pioneers. @Versa you can say billy is hardheaded but your the same person you cast stones at. nobody in this generation can see previous generations, that is facts.

i mean fukk GZA, killah priest is eons over lupe. lupes best material is not comparable to priest current work from this year. maybe if nas had made lupe his protege he would shine harder but as far as carrying a mantle we got the priest.

none of the artists billy named, including your hero has a song with such complex yet relatable lyrics.

as far as GZA goes that man has one of the top 5 introduction verses on an album, ever.

Reunited, double LP, we're all excited
Struck a match to the underground, industry ignited
from metaphorical parables to fertilize the Earth
Wicked nikkaz come, try to burglarize the turf
Scattin off soft-ass beats them nikkaz rap happily
Tragically, that style, deter-iate, rapidly
Uncompleted missions, throwin your best known compositions
You couldn't add it up, if you mastered addition
Where I come from, gettin visual is habitual
De-mon-strate walkin on hot coal, in rituals
I splash the paint on the wall, it formed the mural
He took a look, saw the manifestation of it, was plural
Rhymin while impaired, dart hit your garment
Pierced your internal, streamlined compartments
Just consider the unparallel advantage
Of a natural disaster that's impossible to manage

i mightve ranted a little but fukk it. bout to bump this walter reed now

i remember all the wu diickriders whining about the album cause it wasn't full of rza production, like usual. i thought it was dope as hell too. fame was another great concept track on that album. gza never really has had a bad album come to think of it.

Grandmasters flew over my head in 2005. After listening to it a few years later, I was floored. That album is too cold. On topic, GZA's one topic topical tracks are the best out. Labels, Publicity, Fame, Animal Planet, 0% Finance and Queen's Gambit. Have you all heard the Grandmasters Remix album? Those remixed beats are too damn good. I even found a copy of the instrumentals to that album. I love the Pro Tools album as well. 7 Pounds is my shyt. In fact, Ka's track Off The Record is a tribute to GZA's one topic tracks. Last but not least, GZA is my favorite Clan member.

I definitely feel you my dude. I actually was a Lupe fan. Even though I believe he's regressed into this pretentious, pseudo intellectual weirdo I still think he's very talented. I NEVER, EVER got on here and played myself by saying otherwise. But his stans MADE the dude overrated. Same case with Budden. Dude can spit but he's NOWHERE near a GOAT MC. Not even sniffing Top 50.

And yea, that Reunited verse is one of the greatest introduction verses of an album ever. No doubt.
