Well my point is regardless of whether you have smart security systems or not, the onus is on you to educate yourself on how these devices work I'm not talking about cyber security guru levels here, people want WiFi and while you expect your ISP to have preventive measures in place (which they do, some better than others) doesn't mean you should have basic understanding of the do's and don'ts as there is a lot of things that can go wrong on your end through sheer ignorance.

In a world that becomes more electronic day by day you cant just leave it up to companies to look out for you or your data.
Well you said run pentest which the average person isn't even going to know how to do that. They could also put these devices behind a firewall but once again the average person isn't going to understand that either. So the best solution for them is just to not own these types of devices until these companies are forced to start building these devices with security in mind.

I don’t mind the ring cam if you have it for surveillance outside of your home of the front side and rear of your house.. It’s def an asset, but what I have a huge problem with is people having that shyt inside their home.. you just opening yourself up to a whole new can of worms

The vulnerability is on exploit db or you can search the dw

Any of yall can do the same.

This troglodyte will be caught, I doubt he was sophisticated

A simple call to the ISP will be suffice

that's probably why the hackers was trying to get him to go to some website. prolly had all kinds of footage of him and his wife on some cuckold site.

this......it could be dozens of videos of these 2 on pornhub. yall really need to steer clear of all this "smart" tech

Security systems are hackable regardless of them being connected to the internet what are you talking about? :dwillhuh:

a security cam that’s hooked up to hard drive/computer that is not connected to the internet is hackable how?
