Had it not been for the Wayne & Bird c/s, Drake wouldn't have even been taken srsly at the start

History books aint gonna be kind to Kirby. Deep down inside we all know his discography is weak, dated and only got by based on hype.

SFG only got like 4 jawns thats listenable to this day. Debut was Trash. Weeknd saved Take Care (only like 2 non abel influenced track that are hot) , NWTS forgettable, IYRTITL (scandal) , WATTBA (riding waves) , Views (weak pop shyt)
This is what y'all resorting too:russ:

Thread is stupid

Cosigns have always mattered in urban music

You could've made the same thread about Cole

Cole's an example too. Except the execution was botched. He brought about a certain fanbase on the mixtape circuit, but didn't really deliver that same type of music on the albums, and then stopped putting out mixtapes. Basically he had to cultivate an entirely new fanbase and in the process lost a lot of his steam.

i disagree, putting out mad mixtapes waters down your value and is something artist use for a "quick fix" just to stay relevant but don't realize that less is more and quality will always prevail over quantity! Drake hasn't put out a mixtape since SFG, is he losing any steam? Plus Cole went platinum easily, what steam are you MEASURING by? :youngsabo:
