There wasn't a "George Floyd" bill because, despite the protest and outrage, we don't have a single, powerful black lobby to bribe these corrupt politicians.

The NAACP is a breadcrumb organization that was meant to placate us due to how dangerous UNIA was.

The only way black people progress, meaningfully isn't through voting. It's through concentrated lobbying. It's now abundantly clear to me after today.
Never heard of UNIA

I have to read more

Malcom X's parents were in UNIA and it was founded by Marcus Garvey. It influenced a lof of what Malcom would become.

black nationalism was such a threat that the NAACP got backing by the establishment and Marcus was a target of political attacks; he was jailed and eventually left the country.

I read this book and it hinted at this but not in detail. It also put me on game about how much time America has left.

Yupp exactly. It's crazy that people think the Government is some altruistic objective innocent bystander. The Government is a financial entity just like anything else. Money talks to get things done. If there's a financial return to a law to line their pockets, it will be passed. Perfect example is like when the Government decides where to put funding on a development project. If they don't think Corporations will put their headquarters there and invest in that area, they won't give grants. Government lobbyists/officials worry about that Corporation backend money. That's why so many poor communities stay poor

Ugh, there was. And it passed in the House.

George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021

This bill addresses a wide range of policies and issues regarding policing practices and law enforcement accountability. It increases accountability for law enforcement misconduct, restricts the use of certain policing practices, enhances transparency and data collection, and establishes best practices and training requirements.

The bill enhances existing enforcement mechanisms to remedy violations by law enforcement. Among other things, it does the following:

  • lowers the criminal intent standard—from willful to knowing or reckless—to convict a law enforcement officer for misconduct in a federal prosecution,
  • limits qualified immunity as a defense to liability in a private civil action against a law enforcement officer, and
  • grants administrative subpoena power to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in pattern-or-practice investigations.
It establishes a framework to prevent and remedy racial profiling by law enforcement at the federal, state, and local levels. It also limits the unnecessary use of force and restricts the use of no-knock warrants, chokeholds, and carotid holds.

The bill creates a national registry—the National Police Misconduct Registry—to compile data on complaints and records of police misconduct. It also establishes new reporting requirements, including on the use of force, officer misconduct, and routine policing practices (e.g., stops and searches).

Finally, it directs DOJ to create uniform accreditation standards for law enforcement agencies and requires law enforcement officers to complete training on racial profiling, implicit bias, and the duty to intervene when another officer uses excessive force.

glad you peeped that too :mjpls:
peep this :unimpressed:

Short thesis: U.S. governance shows durable bipartisan continuity on core power centers—war and surveillance, bailouts and budgets, donor access, and institutional rules—consistent with the “Uniparty” claim.

Policy convergence

Donor class alignment

  • Industry money flows to both parties: OpenSecrets shows defense and finance sectors splitting contributions between Democrats and Republicans in 2024. (OpenSecrets)
  • Lobbying pressure is constant and growing: Total federal lobbying spend remains elevated; top clients include pharma, hospitals, and the U.S. Chamber. (OpenSecrets)
  • Revolving door: Persistent movement between government and K Street sustains access regardless of which party governs. (OpenSecrets)

Institutional entrenchment

  • Gerrymandering shielded from federal courts: Rucho v. Common Cause (2019) held partisan gerrymandering nonjusticiable, letting both parties entrench maps. (Supreme Court)
  • Third-party barriers: Debate control and ballot-access hurdles raise entry costs; CPD’s longtime role and recent sidelining illustrate gatekeeping dynamics; analysts note national ballot-access is still formidable. (Commission on Presidential Debates, Brookings, Politico)

Historical continuity examples

  • NAFTA (1993): Passed with bipartisan coalitions in House and Senate. (House Clerk, U.S. Senate)
  • Iraq AUMF (2002): Approved by both parties in both chambers. (U.S. Senate, Congress.gov)
  • Financial deregulation: GLBA (1999) repealed key Glass–Steagall separations on lopsided bipartisan votes; Dodd-Frank (2010) did not reinstate them. (Ballotpedia, Every CRS Report)
  • Pandemic rescue (2020): CARES Act cleared the Senate 96–0 and the House by voice, reflecting unified emergency fiscal response. (Congress.gov)
  • Congressional trading concerns continue: Repeated STOCK Act violations and watchdog complaints keep bipartisan scrutiny alive. (Business Insider, Campaign Legal Center)

Bottom line

Across security, finance, donor access, and electoral rules, outcomes converge even as rhetoric diverges. These data points do not prove identical parties on all issues, but they substantiate the core “Uniparty” claim: foundational policy and power structures persist independent of which party holds office.

I guess reading is hard. You missed the part where I said it failed (in the senate) because it didnt have momentum from lobbies....literally the argument my friend made today. It was all for optics; that bill was never going to be passed.

No one wants to talk about shyt they dont want to believe.

Sorry if I don't buy the narrative from a lobbyist lawyer about US debt. Let me guess, the next thing he said was we need to run the government like a household. That's not how superpower economies work. And the fact that we're talking about dikking around with healthcare spending but not military spending tells me all I need to know about who is saying this and why.

This is just an excuse to cut social programs. They've been trying to eliminate them ever since the civil rights act. They never intended that black people have access to this stuff. Once they had to provide equal access to black people for all social programs, is when they decided to gut everything. Cue the Powell Memo and everything that happened after that.

They just passed a bill which was a 3 trillion dollar tax cut to rich people. They don't give a damn about debt. If they cared about paying off debt, they'd tax rich people. Don't repeat their false justifications.
