I know dozens of AAs who are knowledgeable enough about East African history to have an informed opinion about this topic.

Why wouldn't they weigh in on this topic if it came up? Their knowledge of the conflict and the deaths would make them sensitive to the views of the children of those involved, but why wouldn't they be allowed to voice an opinion?
