I always thought he should go to.

Kinda like how Tyson and Cesaro would mess around in NXT now and again.

Instead they looked to vets outside of the company like Roode & Young, and they couldn't feel less important or relevant.

Whereas a Ziggler, Sheamus or Darren Young could bring some good match quality and some main roster rub
Yep, Cesaro went down there and looked like fukkin MJ on the basketball court.

They don't even talk about NXT until a Takeover comes up. Before they called up Sasha, Zayn, Enzo & Cass, KO, etc they'd mention something about NXT. Maybe that was Vince's ploy all along to get the masses familiar with all these people ahead of the brand split because he knew he'd need a lot of them to fill roster places

Hey Hunter you dumbass this is what happens when you make yourself WWE Champion and try to run NXT and setup the UK tournament all at the same time

The decline of NXT is directly Triple Hs fault

I spoke on this before but there's clearly no direction. NXT talent is divided into three groups (tag teams excluded):

The top: established names from other promotions. They beat everyone below them and only have true feuds with each other.

The midcard: homegrown talent and lesser known indie guys who have a decided gimmick/persona and only have matches for more experiences. They might occasionally have a match against a top card guy but they're never, and I mean NEVER, elevated. It's basically purgatory until the inevitable call-up.

The jobbers: rookies who have to get experience doing matches live and shyt. They only feud with midcard guys and always lose. This happens until they find their gimmick/persona, at which point they disappear only to re-debut a bit later straight into the midcard.

Look at that construction and tell me what's wrong here? Literally no one gets elevated. Ever! People can talk about how Tye Dillinger will never be more than a midcard guy on the main roster, but what good is it to have him lose every big match at every single TakeOver (much like Tyler Breeze before him). Why not take a risk, give them a chance and see if they will reach out and grab the brass ring? There's literally no reason to care about most feuds because you know they don't change anything for anyone.

The reality is the WWE's developmental is trash. They're basically trained to be robots ; they all work the same and cut the same promos, no one is allowed to have a unique personality, and everything has to fit within the same vanilla style of wrestling.

The guys that get over are the ones who developed outside of that system, who cut their teeth in the indies and foreign promotions. These guys stand out because every aspect of their work wasn't micro managed by scrubs like Hugh Morris and Prince Albert. And even then they still try to conform one of a kind talents like Nakamura to the generic WWE style.

One of the best things about wrestling is watching unique personalities and different styles of wrestling come up against each other but most of these guys are identical now, and it's much the same on the main roster. I think this is a big reason that no one really gives a shyt about the product any more. Very little jumps out at you on screen....it's a bunch of miserable wrestlers going through the motions, hoping they don't say or do some arbitrary shyt that'll give them heat backstage by the clowns running the company.

I think the problem has less to do with callups and more with creative / the talent PC has been pumping out. It's obvious Apollo Crews and Nia Jax could have used more time down there but it's not like there hasn't been countless opportunities for other guys to step up in their places

Almas - Not an immediate hit
Sanity - Still finding footing
Samson - Flop
TM61 - Bland
Jose - Definition of a fun NXT character but main roster flop
Dillinger - Solid talent but same issue, also likely getting called up soon
Authors of Pain - Not good workers
Strong - No gimmick or personality
All the women not named Asuka or Ember Moon - Too green in the ring and don't have the passion of 4 Horsewomen

Meanwhile the talent who are ready:
Itami - Hurt too often
Aries - Hurt
Revival & DIY - Who knows how they'll connect with the WWE audience
Joe - Getting called up soon
Asuka & Ember - Top stars in an otherwise really green division
Shinsuke & Roode - Can't feud with each other forever. Language barrier with Shin also a problem
Spot on. Hold this dap and rep.

NXT fell off a long time ago. I still watch TakeOver, but have fallen really behind on watching the weekly show. It's boring, the matches are average at best, and there's no direction for anyone. It's just random shyt. People have a gimmick, but not many have a character. The best talent they have are people who made their names in TNA, on the indies or in Japan. Everyone else kinda sucks.

“I think NXT has the potential to be a lot of things. Where it sits is not 100% my decision."

I like it that he's always slyly letting it known that NXT would be a lot better if not for Coke Boy's interference.

Biggest problem in NXT is the lack of creativity. Signing names just for the sake of it and then not giving them much to do (TM61, Roderick Strong specifically) hurts.

Who's the head writer down there now?

100% Correct. Ward and Dusty being gone really have hurt NXT. It's mostly underdeveloped characters with good matches, which you can find at any indy show.

Don't you have to pay for WWE network in order to watch NXT? My bad, I'm going to sleep, I'm typing stupid shyt.
you do, but the show itself has taken a huge hit as far as quality and talent goes...so its just not the interesting product that it was 2 years ago...i feel like the whole last year has been recap shows damn near lol
