Good, Haiti has been used as a dumping ground and place for the IMF and World Bank to experiment with the harshest and most cruel measures of austerity possible. For fukks sake, private corporations and other entities (mostly criminal) own almost ALL of the arable land in the country, forcing them to IMPORT MOST OF THEIR FOOD.

In what sense does an agrarian island nation need to be importing food unless people are intentionally killing them?

What the international community has done to Haiti is criminal, it is immoral, and it is one of the great tragedies of our time. And god willing the Haitian people have finally had enough of the stooges imposed on them by foreign power that continue to be wantonly and openly corrupt and are ready for revolution to take back their island for themselves.

I wonder. Is that pre- or post-Bill Clinton? :jbhmm: :patrice:

That said, the Clinton's destruction of Haiti is, without any doubt, a crime against humanity, the preceeding 40 years of INTL interference were no better with Papa Doc and Baby Doc in charge. :francis:

I'm still learning a lot of this stuff myself. So unfortunately, it isn't that self-evident. If we're learned nothing else from 2016, it's that eroding a government or democracy can happen damn fast.
I'm just glad you're learning now brother, a little knowledge goes a long way. And it's important that we are ever cognizant of the actions that we partake and condone as people with power over what our country can and cannot do to others.

Learning about the world is, unfortunately, in many cases learning about the excessive, totally unnecessary cruelty of those with imperial power exercising it to the most vile ends.

That was well-worded. But you still didn't answer my question. :francis:

You only got touched if you talked shyt about the papa doc or the government. But nikkas weren’t out kidnapping/robbing/raping ppl :yeshrug:

That's nice and all but Papa Doc is the reason why Haiti is poorer than the DR when it should be neck and neck with DR. Prior to Papa Doc taking power Haiti was neck and neck with DR until he sabotaged the economy. More importantly my step-father's family actually worked under the Duvaliers and my step father has nothing good to say in what he told me so.... Haiti doesn't need anymore dictators like what the heck? And in terms of crimes Haiti actually has the least amount of crimes in the Caribbean prior to the protests. Like seriously dude. in mean... There was also less crime Mussolini's Italy.
