Greatness is more than raw ability and a tally of accomplishments, there is some element of subjective narrative to it.

As someone who has no stake in this debate, I don't see how LeBron beats Jordan in the narrative category. MJ is damned near perfect here... Comes in, wins MVP/DPOY, keeps knocking against the Pistons until he finally, organically breaks through, and is damned near perfect from here on out. The only thing LeBron has close to that is knocking off the 73 win Warriors. And Jordan doesn't have any stain on his narrative the way LeBron does with the Decision and with Dallas.

I think that's why for a lot of people Jordan will remain the GOAT regardless.

There's no lies told here.

MJ was bigger and taller than Payton and quite a bit more athletic. When GP switched over to guarding him and started locking him up on the regular, why didn't Jordan just kill him in the post?

In fact, why doesn't ANY guard kill guys in the post anymore? Some players go to it on occasion but no one can do it all game. Why is that?
That’s the story GP tells himself to sleep better at night:mjlol:

Reading comprehension much? Your reply doesn't make any sense.

George Karl famously didn't switch Payton as the primary defender on MJ until Game 4 of the 1996 Finals. Jordan proceeded to shoot 22-60 (36%) the rest of the way as the Bulls could only average 84ppg. It wasn't until Game 6 (when the refs fouled Kemp out of the game and gave MJ more free throws than the entire Sonics team) that the Bulls managed to escape despite MJ shooting 5-19 for the game and not making a single field goal in the 4th quarter.

So I'm asking you again - when he was struggling so much against Payton's defense, why didn't he just take Payton into the post and dominate him there all game?

Your post is the definition of busy work. You are trying to explain away at a Bulls victory. MJ didn’t have an efficient game 6 but still clinched the chip. Taking GP in the post and dominating wasn’t the goal, it was always to pull out the chip by any means. Winners look for ways to win no matter what. Think about this, if Miami had won in 2011 despite Brons poor performance no one would be talking about a meltdown instead we would say that Bron 3-peated.

The eye test shows MJ to be a better player :manny:

LeGBT and Klutch really gassing up their idol :mjtf:

Act like AD not the best player on this current squad :what:

I will only say that as a leader, LeBron is goat. Pulled three different teams to the championship - a lot of leadership goes into that.

But when it comes to basketball, KD better :patrice: So let’s not even get started in comparing him to the all time goat :wtb:

No matter when Dream said it that's his right. And considering he played against MJ of course we should expect him to say something like this. As an all time great himself he has every right to state this opinion too.

So MJ wasn't trying to play his best basketball, he shot 22-60 over the last three games of the series and lost 2 of 3 because good enough is good enough. :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

MJ purposely shot 5-19 in Game 6 instead of "dominating in the post" like you claim he could have because he was predicting the Sonics would only score 75. :dead:

You can’t get out of your own way to get your point across. Wasting your own time might be good with you but it ain’t with me:francis:

Scoring isn’t the only thing in basketball, there’s court vision, IQ, rebounding, passing all things Lebron is better at. And even we agree that Durant is a better “scorer” Lebron still has a better ppg career average.

Lebron James is a better basketball player than Durant

“Jordan was a far more superior player in a very tough league”

Them warrior teams and spurs teams would’ve beat them bulls ass. When he says “tough league” is he taking about the competition
:patrice:
The Spurs that got taken to 7 in the first round? The way y’all overrate that team just because they beat Bron:mjlol:
