Dont know why Brunson is catching heat

The man is averaging 40ppg on 54% shooting what more could u want from him

The problem the Knicks cant stop anybody. That Josh Hart matchup vs Siakam is an absolute slaughter. Siakam has like 5 inches on Hart and is straight putting him in the basket.

And OG is flat out just not getting it done

This team was clearly built to just beat Boston and only Boston because they got a lot of matchup holes in this series.

You're a complete troll
How am I trolling when I provided sound logic for the trade.

Just say you haven’t watched Kevin Durant in years.

Lol at a nikka coming of 26/6/4 on 53/43/84 splits with 2 stocks being washed.

Lol at his defense being anywhere near as bad as Towns.

Lol at this being a T-Mac situation.

Every year in the playoffs Towns will be mismatch hunted.

On the season, Durant is 2nd in blocks on the team, 5th in steals, 2nd in stocks, and 5th in deflections. His defensive PPP (points per possession) mark is 0.911, ranking in the 72nd percentile — very good. Against pick-and-roll ball handlers, he’s conceding a field goal percentage of just 38.1% — on a PPP of 0.755 which is also very good.

Against isolation, he’s in the 89th percentile, with a PPP of .615, while also ranking 82nd percentile in time spent in this defensive context. He’s defended the 48th most possessions in isolation, per Synergy.

In the isolation realm defensively, of 107 players that have defended 30+, his field goal percentage allowed ranks 5th. Additionally, his 24 points conceded here is T-7th in this crop of players.

On that volume, and considering the archetypes of players occupying starting wing positions, this is elite.

Against post-ups, he’s average in PPP at 1.09.

  • KD is still a better offensive player than Towns with a skillset that is more resilient in the playoffs, especially as a secondary option.
  • KD adds size, allows OG to play the 3, and a rim-protecting center to be on the floor at all times. Basically boosting both the offense and defense.
  • Brunson and Towns is flat out untenable defensively.
Chill, chill bro this makes too much sense.

They gonna say you trolling :mjlol:

The hive mind on this bytch is disgusting.

@ISO thoughts on KD for Kat?

Brunson
Mikal
OG
KD
Mitch

seems formidable on both ends
KD impact is very weakened & masked by offensive numbers due to the era. I’ve said the exact thing about Bron & Steph.

Curry is the only one imo(time is ticking) whose impact can still be felt come playoffs due to his 3pt shooting. NY needs to really consider revamping the offense as Brunson ball has its flaws. To think people tried clowning the Mavs for not resigning him when it’s clear him & Luka weren’t a fit long term. This ain’t 2k

All three of those guys are still elite and will continue to be elite because of their skill level, experience, and the physical shape they stay in. They’re past their primes but still better than players like Karl Towns.

Durant was on a sorry ass team playing close to 37 minutes per. They were 5 points worse with him off the floor. So no his impact is still there. Durant can’t make up for the worse defensive team in the league.

This falls primarily on Thibs. He has to reign in Brunson if he's calling constant isos, or come up with different plays to get Jalen the ball where he's not dribbling for 15+ secs. Run more plays for Bridges mid range, run more plays for KAT to get open 3s or a mismatch in the post.

No adjustments are being made. Knicks have made it this far on pure talent.
It doesn’t help that Kat is a terrible screener. He sets the woat screens. He’s terrible in the pnr period.

Our window goes from potentially 3-4 years to 1. That’s why it’s nuts. You’re gambling that a 37 year old KD on one achilles is going to hold up for an entire finals run. And if it doesn’t work, then what? You’re now handicapped with no real way to improve the roster cause his contract can’t be replaced. I’ll concede that I understated the defensive gaps between them. KD would be a huge help in this series for sure. Towns advantage defensively is his ability to play and defend the 5 but that’s only going to be useful against a handful of teams.

The swap makes sense but KD is also going to want an extension wherever he gets traded to.

Durant is a big upgrade over Towns defensively. :mjlol:

Mfs can’t score on KD on-ball he’s been a top percentile isolation defender for quite some time.

He’s a big upgrade over Towns and would be fine here with Anunoby, Bridges, and Robinson around him.
You might be right but the biggest questions around him are age & health. How many games would he end up missing during the season & post

Hart is about to be benched for Mitchell Robinson

Desperate times & now he's "strongly considering" changing the lineup when the sample size shows it should've been done. Realistically during the Piston series it should've been made. He still needs to be fired no matter the outcome of the series. It seems this stubborn clown needs to be forced into making any kind of adjustments instead of being able to make them on the fly consistently
