Its not how it is! I work for one of the biggest engineering firms in the confederacy. These cacs don't give a fukk what you do because they set your salary. The cold hard reality is that yes those who are superstars have some wiggle room to be obnoxious and careless at times. I went to Hampton and this is no surprise. They had banned cornrows/dreads from business students (I believe it was the business division) at least back in '04 when I was there.

at a non religious school that has a curfew for freshmen students and won't let opposite genders be in rooms together as freshmen.

For all of the good points of the school (baddest bytches I have seen ANYWHERE, and I've been all over this country) it is full of c00ns and semi-fakkits, especially c00ns in the offices.

Edit: I see this is about the business school. I assumed it was the whole university. They banned business students from rocking long hair years ago, but I guess they're just cracking down harder on it now.
