In my experience younger women go for looks.. high school, early 20s tend to go for looks generally or at least try to.
As they get older many probably experienced the breh every women want and the juice ain’t worth the squeeze to them so they go for the safer breh with less options

That said, below average is subjective. I've seen Drake be listed as below average and we all know he's generally seen as handsome gang. To me, below average is probably someone like Slim Charles who's tall. Handsome will be Idris or Chris Brown. Girls think fine is Shermar Moore and Tyson Beckford on LSA.
