In fact with young black athletes if I were an agent I'd INSIST on deferred money. These nikkas blow everything. If you insist on some of that bread being deferred you hope they learn some discipline by the time it does eventually come
The Mets were getting money with Bernie Madoff so they figured deferring the money wouldn't be so bad because, based on their original calculations of their Madoff investments, they were going to be making an astronomical amount of profit so it didn't matter that they were giving Bonilla that much.
