I remember in Middle and HS kids would brag about being in AP or Gifted classes, I was like eff that, I stayed in regular classes never studied or did home work and made all As and Bs with little effort, took my behind to a state school for college instead of some prestigious expensive school and went to college pretty much free and it was easy, and finessed my way in to the IT industry. Like I said work smart not hard, killing yourself working aint gonna put food on the table for your fam, being smart will.
man shut the fucc up lmao

man my pops told me to work smarter and not harder when I was a young buck. one of the realest things he ever taught me :myman:
Same with my pops. Lot of parents push their kids into things they dont want to do then when the kids fail at it their parents act as if the kid didnt "work hard". The only "work" you need to put in at a job or running your own business is making smart and efficient decisions, and also planning in advance. When you plan and prepare in advance you can handle adversity and they won't impact your operations to a level where it is detrimental.

LOL @ Working hard.

I work smart not hard, and it has/is paying off.
Quoted for truth. :mjlol: working hard.
I used to be a top tier worker, getting accolades from my bosses on shyt. At the end of the day, fukk all that shyt. I do just above the bare minimum and make sure I cover my own ass.

100k gross is what I think any person starting out a career should aim for before the age of 35.

100k is chump change in NYC.

People kill me throwing out salary #s. It shows how dumb they are, of course being a millionaire is great but how great is making 10 mill a yr but having 11 mill in liabilities? It dont matter what you make, success is based on being able to live within your means and have enough leg room to do what you want. You can make 30k a year in Idaho and live like a God, but someone will say the dude is losing because he makes 30k.

You don't need to be a manager to make that nor does your job have to be physically demanding. It really depends what field you're in though.
I'm not talking about a job being physically demanding. In my opinion, the most difficult jobs are the ones that require little to no physical effort. And what job gets you 100k a year without being demanding or requiring some type of schooling?

folks be working "hard" then look sick when the new hire they are training is there to replace them or even be their boss. Salty dudes think "working smart" = barely making it, because their dumb asses haven't mastered the game, and mad that "slackers" have juuged their way to the top.

You still didn't answer my question, though. How much do YOU make? Post a paystub as proof, too. It should take you about five minutes or so. With the way you're talking - I'm thinking you should be deep in the six figure range. Otherwise, what good is your advice?

You know how many doctors are dumb as hell, but love what they do/passionate about their jobs where they can do it with their eyes closed? Go to GA Tech or Stanford, those schools aren't hard, those schools are set up in a manner where they know their kids are smart and their goal is to make the students learn how to think more efficiently. Only time you work hard is if you just aren't good at what you do.

If you're going the corporate America route then at least undergrad degree is necessary but it doesn't have to be from a prestige university or anything. I don't feel that schooling is apart of the "hard work" though.

I work in Healthcare IT and there are a lot of jobs that clear six figures. System/database/network admins. Business analysts can clear six. Project managers get paid!! If you work with a speciality software then your chances increase. Again it depends on your industry but I say IT has been good for me...but no I don't make six figures yet but I'm not far off.

man these dudes work retail, if you work a non retail job, you would know "working smart" isn't some mystical concept. Hell even in retail, you have people who are natural salesmen, so while you are "working hard" to hit sales quotas, these cats consistently hit goals because they developed a system that is efficient and works for them. Any person that steps into a job or creates a business and does not create a plan of action of how they will do their job in the most efficient way is a damn fool.
