Neanderthal? It's really an intellectual town, packed with students, teachers, doctors etc

Come to Philly

Center city has the best selection of restaurants in a densely packed area and you can almost always get a table. If you like to eat, drink and socialize... Philly is the best option in America. People are laid back here and not status obsessed like ny, dc, la etc. though I don't mind that the rest of the country doesn't get it, if they understood the lifestyle it would get way too crowded

Ive been to Philly a lot and it is alright in that department, but far from the best option in the country.. I'd say it is in the top 10 though when it comes to nightlife...

Everyone there is just about getting into fights over nonsense. Last time I went I must have seen at least 3 brawls and these were whites in south philly.

You have a lot of white trash guido types in town, not much different from Long Island or mass. They're easy to avoid and actually fun to watch sports with every once in a while. The Philly attitude can become endearing, what you see as rudeness is just a familiarity between the people. Everyone is pretty straight up here, something that I didn't realize was unique until I visited the Midwest and west coast

Depends on what nightlife

I like to go to a nice bar and eat great food and drink great beer, there's no town better than Philly for that

If you're into nightclubs or lounges, I can see how Philly may be a little lacking

Again depends on what you're comparing it to

As far as nice towns on the east coast, Philly is most affordable. I was in Boston and couldn't believe the prices people pay for apartments there

Nightlife to me, includes EVERYTHING, restaurants, live entertainment, bars, lounges, nightclubs, theatre... When you add all of those things in, Philly actually ranks better(In the top 10) then it would if you only included your criteria of drinking beer and eating food...

Don't want you to think I am a Philly hater, a lot of culture in that city that doesn't get highlighted enough, and it is definitely filled with smart people (A LOT of engineers)...

When you talk about night life, you are talking about, bars, restaurants, live music venues and culture, theatre, and lounges/clubs

The only cities I would ever put over Philly are

Vegas, NY, Miami, New Orleans, LA, San Fran, and Austin..

Then comes Philly, then ATL, and then places like Nashville


Sorry, but Tampa is just laughable

Atlanta has dance clubs and Strib clubs, but nightlife includes everything, Bars, Theatre, live music venues, restaurants, lounges, etc...

San Diego is nice, but its not on the level of the other cities I listed...
