Has a DPOY ever been exposed so badly as Rudy Gobert?

I mean Gobert does this in the playoffs every single year not sure why it would be a surprise.

When you play Utah in the playoffs you know for certain you can go small and get a guard an open 3 in the corners or wings cause once Rudy gets into the paint on defense he aint ever coming out

I'm guessing you didn't watch. 3peat Shaq is not the same as the one who lost to Hakeem and Shaq scored plenty on Hakeem. And Ben Wallace couldn't even stop older Shaq you stupid fukk
You said nobody could guard shaq. I named 3 people that could and did. Yet I'm the stupid one:ehh:

So your definition of guarding 2000 Shaq are 3 people who won despite not guarding a different version of Shaq very well? Shaq shot like 65 percent against Ben Wallace.

Low key, Memphis was getting anything they wanted in the first round but they don't have the shooters that LAC has. I thought that spelled trouble but nobody talked about it because they won the series 4-1.

yea Ja & Brooks were putting up numbers blowing past Jazz's perimeter defense and laying up over Gobert, but like you said no 3pt shooting to counter Utah's, so ultimately a losing battle

Reggie Jackson and Mann were attacking him at the rim like Harrell lmao, I always thought his defense was overrated because of drop down but I did not expect this

drop down defense been getting abused and has shown in this playoffs why at times you just need 5 good individual defenders who can keep their man in front of them & fight over or recover well on screens

This wasn't even about drop down, Reggie and Mann were abusing him at the rim. That is Gobert's best attribute, it's crazy. Voters gotta treat him like how they do Giannis with the MVP moving forward

Gobert wasn't the problem. Jazz perimeter D was getting cooked and he had to switch on screens or try to protect the rim. Tough choices and he caught it bad because the other guys couldn't keep up.
HE DIDNT DO ANY OF THAT.

HE CAME DOWN THE COURT
AND IMMEDIATELY SAT IN THE PAINT.

CLIPS PLAYERS PUT THEIR HEADS
DOWN AND DROVE HARD WITH
WITH THE INTENT TO PASS THE BALL.

it's hard to recover and defend the rim for someone his size when he was pulled out to the perimeter and quick guards were driving by him...that's just a tough ask for someone with his physical limitations...I can really only think of Giannis being that height/size and being able to recover quick enough
