Has a DPOY ever been exposed so badly as Rudy Gobert?

If you can't guard the perimeter you have no business winning DPOY in today's league

Gobert's really good at what he does, but very limited. He'll continue to get picked on in the playoffs.

He got close to a supermax for 5 years and it hasn't even kicked in yet. Most of the contract will be in his 30s when his body starts declining. The Jazz are stuck with him.

Utah has no athletic perimeter defenders..

Joe Ingles and the other cac. D.mitch is a liability on defense as well.. + Clarkson ..

Conley is a good defender but still limited due to his size. Vastly over paid..

Not a well constructed team.. seems like the gm thought gobert would be enough to cancel out all their weak perimeter defenders

Heck I damn sure did. I thought those dudes would be scared to drive with Gobert. I thougt the Clippers wouldn't hit threes at a crazy clip for the series. They did it for 4 straight games.

Clips had the highest 3pt % in the history of the nba in the regular season .. I like Utah. Ltta assets good players there just all offensive minded.. where clips players are nearly all 2way players..

Literally every player except d.mitch should be available for a trade. Gobert/bog/Conley/Ingles/clarkson

Without Gobert Utah is struggling to win 41 games breh. They aren't that stupid.

One highlight makes y’all forget that D-Rob had a winning record against Dream in his career.

But I thought y’all watched the games.
:coffee:

Didn’t the dream put a clinic on him

But y’all making a whole thread because Rudy couldn’t get out to the perimeter, but no one asked shaq to do that and still gave him his props, I’m not giving a total pass, but that’s not what Rudy was built for, that’s bad coaching to have him in that position

Rudy is a 7ft defensive anchor. To expect him to guard dribble penetration of players half his size or play 25ft from the basket is idiotic. This is as much on quinn as it is rudy

I’m glad brehs with actual bball knowledge are pointing this out…this is straight up on Snyder’s stubbornness, there is so much tape on the jazz struggling against small ball in the regular season his lack of adjustment consistently put his most important player in bad situations away from what he does best smh…more than anything Ty Lue deserves the most credit for recognizing this…

Utah are what they are a middling playoff team that overachieved…there pretty much in the same position the Raptors where in the season before they got Kawhi…they def gonna have to get Snyder outta there and find away to retool..
