My current job is entirely too overwhelming for me

Its getting to the point that Im forgetting to do daily tasks in the office.

Im doing 10,000 jobs a day

Being barked at on a daily basis and constantly bossed around.

Thing is, I cant quit because I need the fukking money.

If I do quit, I cant file for unemployment.

Its so hard to find a decent paying job nowadays.

Im in the legal field (work in a law firm) btw.

Can anyone offer some good sound advice?

Not sure what you're asking advice for...look for another job doing the same thing or something similar for similar pay. Travel farther or take a pay cut. Get into a new field entirely.

I was working 16 hour days at one gig. I slept less and started looking for jobs doing the same thing, ended up finding something which actually paid more money and had better hours.

Me? Overwhelmed? :youngsabo:

Imma straight killer with that pressure on

Either

A) Look for another job and just grind that shyt out until then

B) Learn to say no and ask for help. It's amazing how many people don't do this, people scared and shyt.
It doesnt have to be a bad thing you approach it right.
Let whoever know you already have x amount of tasks to do, its impacting your productivity or simply if you want me to do y your gonna have to put z on the back burner.
Keep in mind though you ahould be able to multi task to an extent so I hope you not just being lazy:ufdup:

They probably want to give you a hard time until you leave. I had the same thing happen to me at a job dominated by 3 different nationalities, the recruiters and management where alright but the shift managers didn't like anyone outside of their nationality. I started with 6 other blacks by the end of the first month 4 of them had enough and where gone. I tried to just grind my way to a permanent position, but they kept giving me jobs that are done once in a while by a group to do on my own every night. Soon as I realized what was going on, I put my name down for every shift the next 2 weeks and never showed up :pachaha:

This.

Hold it down in your current position while you look for a new job.

Think about entrepreneurship... Contact your personal network and see what opportunities they have available...Scour the internet...Pursue your passions and/or pursue what you're good at.

Most jobs rely on a formula. Once you have the structure worked out and apply your time constructively, it should be easy. Sounds like youre suffering with an unmanageable workload though. Your options are:
• Ask for help (as one poster said) it may seem obvious but many people let their pride take over and end up sabotaging their own performance. You can ask colleagues, management (if they seem decent, not one those soulless drones) even a friend with good common sense may help you view things from a different perspective.
• Plan your day/micromanage your time - extremely useful, severely underused. I would personally ask to be emailed/given tasks on my desk as soon as possible in order to prioritize. You may he spending the bulk of your time on difficult tasks which arent as important as the simpler ones neglected.
• Delegate - got any unemployed friends or relatives? Or someone employed looking to make an extra few bucks? Tell them about your difficult position, teach them how to help, offer payment/commission. (If you can afford it)
• use your exp and apply for a similar/better job - a lot of the time you are responsible for how you are treated. Letting management etc get away with condescending tones, aggression or taking advantage of your inability to say no will only lead to major problems when you finally learn how to or are forced to say it. Grind until the next opportunity, start fresh, know your job role and make sure you stick to it, with added responsibilities being taken on once you are through your base tasks. It costs a lot to hire and fire, most employers arent looking for yes people, but that doesnt mean theyll hold their cool once their lackey develops some self respect.

Good luck with your situation.
