I will say dancehall riddims from the 90's to mid 2000's sound like epics compared to the watered down fukkry they're calling riddims now.

I know mentioning his name is probably akin to mentioning Drake but it sound like Sean Paul had pretty complex rhythms, no?

Naira Marley is one of the hottest Street Artists in Nigeria right now. He has a culture like following of fans with unruly behaviour, similar to Chief Keef at his peak. Not sure if he has the international appeal of Burna, Davido and Wizkid

this is slowlgetting vulgar

Whomever says Afrobeats hasn't gotten dancehall out the paint is lying to themselves. A few months back my students went NUTS when we played Burna Boy at a show. They went insane. I'm talking African, Latino, West Indian, Asian...I just stood there stunned
It's some reggae dance hall old heads in here that are in denial for sure :flabbynsick:

I want to agree with you...but then I realize a buncha people reading this thread were probably conceived to Needle Eye Pum Pum or some other Shabba tune. It's not like the older heads don't have their slackness built in. :patrice:

not in America or the western hemisphere besides Colombia. It's probably more popular in England though. I notice in the UK there seems to be alot of dancehall/afrobeat collabs like that "don't rush" song from that viral challenge
