Has Alchemists Work Rate Covered Up the Mediocrity of the Actual Beats?

The new bandwagon is that Alc is a don for all these new albums hes working on, but to me they all sound the same and is not touching his old school shyt.

these are the bangers. i listen to his new shyt and tbh it just sounds like a mess to me, 20 different samples thrown into one beat, wack drums that dont hit and just generally no focus.

id put Alch in my top 10 all time producers but this new shyt i just cant feel

First off, Alc is my favorite hip hop artist of all time.
And as a huge Alc fan, i'd have to say yes and no.
Even though he releases so much stuff, his b/p (bangers per project) ratio stays around 4,5 - 5. That effectively means that if he released a project with someone and it had 15 songs, atleast 3-4 tracks would be straight bangers. And i think that the ratio would have been the same, even if he did put out 2-3 times less material. The man makes bangers for a living and he's good at it.
One other thing, i think that Alc tries to adjust to everybody too much. And that the albums would be much better if rappers started adjusting to him.

this along with, Ithink ALC is tryina find a sound.

First he was biting madlib a bit
now he is influenced by Roc Marciano's style.

I think he is trying that sound inbetween being a banger, while still providing ambiant music for the rappers on his beats.


He needs to just do some instrumental albums to exercise his sounds, till he gets bored of that and focuses on what ties his influences and talent to create a more defining style.

Damn well i feel he has gotten better. And yeah not all of his beats are wow factor but he consistently drops ill beats on projects solely produced by himself. 9th wonder used to be the same but he just blesses a project with a few beats these days
