How many rappers from the early 00's are still hot?

Jay Z, Eminem, Kanye, and....?

This is a Fox News style question....

How many rappers from the early 00s are still able to get an actual album out in the harsh reality of the music business in the last few years?

All the guys you named...plus Nelly, Camron, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Noreaga, Puff Daddy, Raekwon, Noreaga, Fat Joe, Juicy J......

You realize we didn't even know where Bin Ladin was when 50s last album came out?

Because nikkas stan 50 more for his "gangsta" than his music.

And his damn money, that none of them will ever see. Basically a bunch of CACs and c00ns that worship him taking down other talented black men from making money.

My God man!!! You are in every thread hating on someone w/ money? It doesnt matter what race they are, white, black, asian, dog, cat...if a muthafuka makes some money they are the devil to you.

The fukk is up w/ you?

and if 50 wanted to just drop an album he could do that...he's obviously looking for that hit single, but that is a bad move of course.

:umad:

I respect black excellence, not black thievery. Even with Jay-Z, I respect that he (tried) to last long with his music and not rely on other superstars to make it big (Vol. 2 is when he blew up, and did it with an "annie" sample). He also keeps it low key and not be all-in-your-face with flopping singles and comedy skits.

fam, now you know if 50 just wanted to release an album he could do that.
He's waiting for that perfect single (which is a mistake)...but lets stop w/ the obvious hate.
Damn near every rapper you listed is on a Koch type of situation, or is straight up independent.

Okay how about TI, Lil Wayne, Nas, Jay-z, Kanye West, Eminem, Raekwon, Big Boi from Outkast, Puff Daddy, and Young Jeezy?

50 Cent is on par with Ludacris minus the movie situation. He's not 'waiting for the right single' because he's done every single he can. People just don't care about his music like that anymore, harsh reality.

If 50 went gold the "hate money crew" would come in here w/ a million gifs of hate.

Nah, nikkas would actually be shocked tbh. Dude is a dead in the water, nobody checkin for type artist..now way in hell going gold would be anything less than W for him especially in 2014.

Wayne went gold strictly off his name, that IANAHB shyt is more like a mixtape series imo. And TI is a much bigger force music wise than 50 has been since 08.

I forgot about Jeezy too...last album sold like 700k..recently had two number 1 rap singles (My nikka and R.I.P).

50 been putting out quality tracks for years with no release date in sight.....sounds like dude is being blackballed to me :yeshrug:

At the end of the day, I could give a fukk less whether he puts out an album or not, as long as he keeps putting out music I'm good...I dont buy shyt anyway

Fif's definition of quality is sales. No sales and publicity = failure in quality music.

That was back in the early 2000s when the actual climate was different and the harsh realities of the record business didn't quite set in yet.

Look at record sales then and now....everyone knows the climate is way different. 50 would be a fool to think he ever selling mills again
