Has any team ever been stagnant for longer than the current Clippers?

They've set themselves back 5 years thinking they was a contender capable of winning a title.

hey if clippers wouldve been healthy in <insert year here> theyd beat the warriors, real talk

:troll:

Funny thing is they are the last West team to actually do that. In retrospect the Clippers might have screwed themselves and the rest of the west by winning that series.

Plus its really alot of small shyt and the little things like- Not wanting to bring Hassan Whiteside in for a workout before he went to Miami, cutting Joe Ingles two years ago, passed on Rudy Gobert(2nd round), giving Milwaukee a 1st rounder just to take Jared Dudley's contract, heard we could've gotten DeRozen for Eric Bledsoe straight up four years ago, etc.

I understand whiffing on things from time to time as a GM but to whiff on everything 100% of the time is absurd:why: There has been no youth coming up in the system, no surprise new find, no x factor, no hungry D leaguer, no Euro, no gritty junkyard rebounder, absolutely nothing since he's been here. :mindblown:

Everyone whiffed on Whiteside and Gobert (late first round btw). They already got DeAndre (in the 2nd round) so it's not like they are lacking in that area. I'd say trading the pick that ending up winning the lottery for Mo Williams had to be the most egregious error. Their biggest error was building a 1990s team in the modern era. A great small PG, athletic 4 with 15-18 foot range, and an athletic rim protecting/rebounding 5 would have been a problem back then. Unfortunately, this is the era where you gotta have wings on both ends and 3 pt shooting everywhere.

Easily the grizzlies...this is the umpteenth year they have not added any shooting around zbo and marc...

Their idea of adding shooting was to sign vince carter...old...and chandler parsons...injured...

They've been a perineal early exit playoff squad for a decade.

Supposedly he requested the Clipps plus our assistants wanted to bring him in as well but Doc said no. DJ would've been expendable/traded if we had Whiteside

-agree with the way our team is built like its the 1990's tho. Doc is too old school

Grizzlies been doing the same rodeo as long as the clippers have

Still thinking conley and gasol will get them somewhere
Yeah the Grizzlies are right behind. They had some deep squads 3-4 years ago. But the west was a little too good.

The Pacers had their time too 3-4 yrs ago. Now it's over for them too

At least those teams have made it to the Conference finals.

Clips cant even get out of the second round.

At least the Grizzlies have been to the conference finals

They got to wcf finals tho

The Grizzlies made it once because they got to play a Thunder team that had just lost Westbrook :what: They got swept once they faced a real team.

They have never been a legit championship contender and theyve been in this spot longer than the Clippers.

Is this question fukking serious?

How about the stagnancy of the Clippers BEFORE this current version of them?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!

The way people talk about the Clippers and how they need to blow it up and this and that, you'd think they were the Lakers or something, like this hasn't been BY FAR the GOAT run for this franchise.
This is what I say all the time when I hear people talk about teams that continuously lose in the playoffs (e.g. Marvin Lewis). Blow it up and then do what? lol, the Knicks would love to have been the Clippers of the last 6 years. Let's be real if you're team isn't blessed to have a handful of the best players there isn't much you can hope for other than pulling out an upset or some kind of improbable playoff run (e.g. Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs) or hope a team gets injured.
