His pops screwed him over with poor management and not dropping music while he was hot and in the spotlight.

Waynes first single after prison. Heavily anticipated.

shyt comes out and wayne snaps, beat is amazing and Wayne drops like 8 different quotables. Its the song of the moment

This is Cory Gunz chance to burst onto the scene with a memorable verse

"Word to my mama im outta my lima bean"

:francis:

Dude really deaded his whole career with that one opener

Guns got quotables and every single one reminds me of why he corny. "All i want is his bytch Wayne signed a feen"

And the bars wasn't like super bad it was his over conviction and delivery of these bars like chill out Rufus from Kim Possible you'll get your chance to flop like the rest of ymcb

Man i used to love Cory but he couldn’t write a song. And when he tried to come up with something for radio it was most definitely apparent and was corny. A lot of great spitters fall into that category.

He could most definitely rap though

Cory Gunz was never gonna blow up.
I came to say this. Like he ain't fumble anything lol. nikkas acting like he was supposed to "have next". That mixtape style of rap he was on was been dead years before he got his shot. On top of that he didn't look or sound convincing at all. Then on top of that Peter Gunz and the whole tv shyt. Nobody looked at him having next at all and in fact the real question people asked it how did he get on the Wayne song in the first place.

Corey had the formula but didn't run with it

I remember back in like 2005ish he was dropping underground videos on video mixtapes. (equivalent to audio mixtapes but on DVDs with the visuals) Anyways he was dropping gritty videos of him in the hood and had a banger too forget the name (the chorus was like a choir) anyways he had the NYE gritty visuals and tracks which is what eventually artists like Tekashi, Bobby Shmurda, Pop Smoke ran with it and blew up (I know its blasphemy putting Tekashi with those names but im talking more aesthetics and visuals not as people) but he was doing the the gangs all in the background, in the hood etc before said artists

But he for whatever reason went with the cleaner image and tried more of a pop star look and started doing TV etc. If he woulda ran with the gritty version which the lane was wide open I think he woulda saw more success
:blessed: classic

Nah, he killed that feature..... He just ain't have shyt to build off that momentum. I know Cory Gunz is a rapping azz dude, but I couldn't name one solo song from him if my life depended on it
I checked a couple of his mixtapes. Most of the shyt was generic as hell even though he'd occasionally spaz on some shyt like him over the Stay Fly beat on his The Apprentice 3 mixtape. I got it on my computer but can't even find that shyt online anywhere but Datpiff.

I still think the real fukk up was him wasting all the momentum after the Get Em Girls car freestyle. That shyt went everywhere.
