Yup, I live in Cali now. The Mexicans across the street talk loudly in Spanish whenever they come out of their house, blast Mariachi music on the weekends, and then look at my family like we're demons whenever they see us step out of the house. Even though they're the ones who make the most noise in an otherwise very quiet neighborhood.
:blessed: Our good ol' Mexican friends.

Always
I've been to Baja California and a few places to play soccer games and try out. We didn't get to site see. Just trained and got served by Mexicans in soccer and almost drank some suspect water.

Edit: we weren't allowed to leave the hotel on our own because they didn't want us to get kidnapped. We had to get vaccination shots. Security meeting was scary. We were told to not wear name brand clothing or talk about being from America because we might get kidnapped. They told us a story about a player who got kidnapped and had his fingertips cut off and sent to his family to get a ransom. Lol I couldn't wait to get back to america. We also were only allowed to drink filtered or bottled water. It was crazy as fukk.

Heading to Cozumel for 10 days in a few weeks. Flying into Cancun and taking the ferry over from playa del Carmen.

Have been to Cozumel a lot on cruises and want to check it out because we are thinking about buying a rental or a future retirement home down there.

Thinking of Doing this in Panama or Costa Rica also. But Cozumel is the first choice. So we will vacation in the other spots later if this does not pan out.

But for a a person in there 20's. Definitely Cancun. It's real touristy but it's designed that way. Like a 24/hour party. Coz shuts down early and only have a few spots open late. Playa is really small but fun and we went to Cancun a lot when we were there.
But if you try the Mexican Riviera. Definitely stay in an all inclusive. Too much cartel activity.

We hardly ever do all inclusives. You can find a nice hotel and plenty of cheap restaurants and cheap booze for less than an all inclusive. But I can see the appeal with them though. But after 24 cruises , I don't like being locked down to one general location now.

Headed to Cozumel in a few weeks for the first time on a carnival cruise. What spots should we check out? Is it easy to sneak alcohol on the ship?

Does it rain a lot though

Supposedly they get a lot of rain during May-June. I went in June.

And btw, make sure you don't drink the water. Don't even use ice either if you can avoid it. I found out the hard way.:mjcry:

Senor frogs /Carlos n Charlie's /wet Wendy's if you like to drink wet Wendy's has the best drink prices though.

Every Beach is a win on the island.

If you like silver there is a silver mine on the island. But you gotta get off the front Street to get the deals. Most of the the front Street stores are partnered up with the cruise industry so they gotta pay them a cut too.

The island is pretty small less the 100,000 people . only half of he island is developed. So it's only got like 2/roads. Impossible to get lost.

So that also makes the excursions boring.
Unless you do the ones that take you off the island to the mainland.

For sneaking. It almost impossible getting on the ship at embarkation. They even caught a dude that had filled a Listerine bottle with liquor and re sealed it. I was like damn...they ain't playing, but...

we will buy a 5th on the island and walk back on. When they tell us to check it we just walk right by the check station.
But I look :demonic: so they may not want to confront me.

You should be good. Talk to one of the front desk people when you get settled. They will give you some ideas. They deal with thousands of tourists. Just tell them what you are looking for. They may get you a deal too.
