Has anyone here ever read Kindred by Otavia Butler?

Its a book about a modern (modern at that time) black woman who get dizzy spells and end up waking up in 1815. Her white husband time travels with her sometimes as she travel back n forth to take care of massa rufus. Just wanted to hear the coli's thoughts and opinions :troll:

It’s a amazing book. My favorite part was
when she traveled back into the present and her arm was stuck in the wall
this should have been turned in a movie, but they should take artistic liberties and take out the bedwenching:mjpls:

She isnt brought up enough when it comes to great writers but if i remember correctly she did get more than a few awards
She’s been more celebrated and recognized posthumously. You’re right, she did win some sci fi book awards when alive but given the relevance of her novels today I think she’s still woefully under appreciated.
