Id try it, but I want to be married and that's the part that's feeling further and further out of reach
Yeah a lot of men, people in general want that as a prerequisite and I can't say I blame them. Experiencing what I have experienced, I'm happy I had a child. I'm not tripping that it didn't align with society's view of "the right way", especially when I see divorced women facing the same issues as me or even worse women who option of our parenting without marriage, missed the window and it was too late.
It's no right answer wither way, but I know I would have definitely struggled with being a traditional wife AND mother.

According to him he could afford it, I’m just looking at age. He will be legal retirement age by the time his kids are in highschool. That is gross to me lol.
Affording the children is not it. Keeping up with them at 52 is.
