Alright man. Usually when someone tells me to my face that they don't like me I listen but good luck with the Republicans even though they've done the same to black folks.
yeah, im disputing that logic, i think its important to understand that even progressive policies designed to help the poor downtrodden black race are based on white supremacy, its based on the notion that the only way black people will rise is if the great white man does something to help
they are not based on principles of black power, black independence
and also racism or outward racism is only one variable out of many, subtle and hidden racism is also a factor, and so is efficiency and effectiveness of the proposals
It'd be nice to give the finger to the system and work just on economics as you've pointed out. The study of economics used to be called the study of the political economy. They were considered too closely tied to be separated. You've gotta play the game, for better or worse. Sitting it out isn't helpful, it's detrimental. We can't just keep our head down and hope it'll all turn out alright. Sorry to break the news to ya.
of course economics are politics are related, my point is that economic power is more important than political power and that money is more powerful than voting or moral crusades
i wasnt saying they are separate entities
im not sure where you are getting the notion that i was suggesting sitting or keeping our heads down, i think black people need to vote more, im simply not going around telling people who to vote for tho and reminding people that politics is secondary, business and property ownership is more important
Do we need to start making different decisions with our money? Yup. Is that going to matter if we don't alter the rules in our favor? Absolutely not. And even if we shunned all other folks, women included so now we're talking about just black males (and we all know the incarceration rates and felons can't vote), we lose the numbers game for just about everything. Maybe some local elections here and there if we're lucky, but that's not enough for me.
i wasnt saying shunning anybody, im saying we should vote for all parties and not be stuck voting for one party
you are the one saying that we should put all our eggs in one basket, the democratic party
Healthcare reform, financial reform, higher minimum wage to provide a better base for our communities, lower mandatory minimums, better education, pro-academia, and student loan reforms are all progressive policies man.

That's the thing. If you agree with nearly all of the progressive issues, why wouldn't you vote for the party that favors them?
And if you really don't care, those of us who do would kindly ask you to step aside so you don't get in the way
you are just using phrases in a meaningless way
i support obama care
i have no idea what financial reform means
im actually on the fence on minimum wage
lower mandatory minimum and ending the drug war is also supported by libertarians and like i said, democrats where involved in creating the system
better education to me means destroying the current public school system and replacing it with charters and vouchers, i side with republicans on school reform
pro academic, assuming that means more money toward higher education is something i support
student loan reform is a good issue, but i dont think its a critical issue that would sway my vote
but overall my views are center right, i support some progressive views but im also against immigration amnesty, affirmative action and public housing and i dont see any crisis because congress has rejected some of obama's proposals
i think your problem is that you start with the premise that democrats are better, i dont start with that premise, im open to all views and all ideas and i question everything
