Has kratos shown the most character growth of a videogame character in the last 14 years?

What?

This is why I hate stories in video games. What the fukk does this even mean. Why would I go to a title named God Of War looking for growth!? I want to kill everything; that’s why I bought the stupid fukking game. Instead, I gotta watch some mopey queer and his sad dad in a lift and squeeze simulator. fukk outta here

This is like saying Dante got soft in DMC5 because he became a father figure to his nephew and ended the beef with his brother. You're still playing an action game about killing everything.

How many games do you want to do the exact same thing in?

God of War Kratos and God of War (2018) Kratos might as well be two different characters. I don't know what writers were all involved but it comes across like the character switched hands and the original direction of the character was abandoned.

You say that about Dante but the bricks of his brother and his nephew were still laid over the series. It wasn't just here's a time skip and now he's completely different.

Hold this neg and go talk to Sasuke who’s entire clan’s power is based on their inability to handle their emotions like every other person on the planet and their only way to become stronger is to be sad about their life and hurt those they love most.

Kratos jumping off the cliff at the end of GOW was inline with who Kratos became in GOW2018.

Kratos during the original trilogy was was young and angry with the gods manipulating his life. Kratos at the beginning of the new trilogy is a hostile hermit who chooses to live outside of the God's rules due to his extreme distrust of them.

They aren't completely different characters, the new Kratos is exactly who he was near the end of GOW3 after Pandora restored his compassion.

It's no different than the immature comical personality of Dante in DMC1 compared to the more mature and caring Dante in DMC5.

Why? That's the meat :dame:and potatoes of all of the God of War games.
No, killing shyt is. That’s why I’m playing as a guy with blades attached to his arms. I, much like the people he’s chopping to bits like a Dominican Zumba instructor, don’t particularly care why he’s so upset, just that he’s swinging fukking blades.

I actually think where Kratos is at in the newer GOW is in line with the Greek Version more than you think. First off he was not just a rage filled character for no reason. The PSP games actually fill in some of these gaps but even in the Greek series Kratos deals with the anger (which is really sadness) and explores what got him there and what he had to do to get over it. By killing the gods he was really shedding his sadness and when he does that he renounces the old gods in a sense and is in a sense reborn. All Kratos knows is fighting and having a family like in real life changes your worldview.

You can also see a lot of the current kratos when he’s interacting with calliope in Chains of Olympus
