One of the most dangerous myths many black people believe is that whites want us to succeed and it's our "behavior" that brought about all the hate and not our existence in and of itself. I mean is that why they burned black townships, initially forbid blacks from reading and educating themselves and implemented Jim Crow? You think that crack manifested itself in the inner cities from thin air? Anytime you bring up the academic success of African immigrants in America and the UK, you get an overwhelming amount of "skepticism" and whites flat out accusing the US census bureau of lying.

White people, as Todd2012 pointed out, base a lot of their self worth on the belief that they're better than blacks. The thought of a black guy outdoing them is an unthinkable and terrifying to a lot of them. They WANT us at the bottom to feel better about themselves. You can never EVER transcend blackness and become "equal" to a white man in America. Your race will always be a point of contention and your success is often seen as threatening and "wrong". Just ask all the Harvard grads (including Obama) whose success "just had to have been" due to Affirmative Action or some other quota system. Look what they did to Fred Hampton and Martin Luther King (and spare me any notions that "things have changed").

Maybe you right and that statement cannot be confirmed true or false... But I talk from personal experience. I'm from NY, one of the most liberal and multicultured places in the world, not only the US. And most of the white people I've met here hold some kind of prejudice against black people. I'm not talkin about openly blatant racism, but they do see us as different from them. If this happens in NY, I dont even wanna know how it is in the rest of country... and if you truly wanna believe racism doesn't still exist at a major scale, then you're clearly not black.

We've created our own culture within this nation because of our different history from theirs, so of course we're different. So when you wanna neglect these differences you're neglecting the problem that black people face in America. If you read my last paragraph you'd see I'm still optimistic about the future and actually feel happy and proud about being american, b/c even with all these different cultures (not only black and white) livin' in the same country, we still view ourselves as one nation.

I'm from NYC, so I know what you're saying, but in NYC a lot of people are from poor countries so they lack education in world history which means they go by what they see in the media, what they have been taught by their ignorant forefathers, or they are poor or just one generation away from being poor so they still lack education. NYC is not that liberal as people make it out to be. The south has it's bullshyt, but I think it's more racial integration here then NYC, at least the southeast. NYC, different people hang together(mostly men), but they don't really blend in when it comes to dating other races besides latins dating both black & whites, and even then it's certain latins not all.

In certain parts of the south, you will see more whites & blacks dating. If they aren't they seem to get along better then in NYC, as well as some whites knowing there is a difference between blacks who aren't the stereotype, and who are, while most foreigners put all of us in the same bag. I think it has to do with NYC being a "gotta get it city" so everyone is competing with each other, and if you are different you really are outside the family/friends circle. Even though most people are not living big time, they have this idea they are the shyt because they have regular things(house,car,living decent) whereas in the south, there is more space and freedom so there is less competition which means more people will be willing to learn and deal with each other. As long as both groups are living good.

There will still be racism, but it seems to be more with people who are less educated about world history and/or aren't living well. The rest is just prejudice. As long as you aren't making my life harder, I don't give a fukk.

Part of the problem is that both Black and White folks think we are different...leave this country and you will see how similar you are to the most country white dude in the south.

At worst, white people have a fear of blacks because of the crime rates, and because of the high numbers of poor black people in cities. They dont think far enough to realize its a class issue...so they may judge black folks because so many of the ones they come across on the street are bums.

No, I do think they think about us as far becoming part of their family because just like the isis papers states, they have a subconscious fear of the family not looking the same anymore, and their "genes" being wiped out. To us that isn't really a thought. At the most, our kids may come out looking like a light skinned latin but over time everyone in the family will look black some sort of way. That isn't the case for most groups besides Asians, and even then the child will not look like a high yellow Asian, but more like a a bushman(Nelson Mandela) or a Filipino. Most people have a need to have their family look like them, and if a few people can stop all of that, your whole world would be changed in just two generations because you would have to accept racism in this world effecting the people who you care about, which means you would have to do a lot of self reflecting, and change in your community, which means STOPPING WHITE SUPREMACY. Most people aren't willing to do that for themselves let alone their extended family, and community. They are content with living a bullshyt lie as long as it feels good to them.
